Welcome to Wikidata, Bluemersen!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

Vandalism revertsEdit

Hi Bluemersen. I saw you very pretty active in reverting language name insertions recently. Thank you very much for this! However, why don't you use your rollbacker right for this? Doing so would automatically patrol the edits you roll back. With the normal undo function, this is not the case, and so these edits still appear in the Recent Changes list with patrolled edits hidden (unless you manually patrol the removed edits afterwards), which is likely to cause other people to unnecessarily re-check the edits you already reverted. Thanks for considering. --YMS (talk) 11:04, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Sorry for the unintended consequences. I apologize for the inconvenience I caused. I'll use my rollback right when reverting language name insertions. Bluemersen (+) 03:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
No need to apologize. I just think that it usually should not be necessary to check things twice, though of course it's better that way than nobody doing this stuff at all. But thanks for considering to revert where possible. --YMS (talk) 08:36, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi! Try using http://tools.wmflabs.org/widar/ . It will make your edits much easier. --Милан Јелисавчић (talk) 09:12, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Oh, thanks for the info. Since I am on mobile right now, I will try it later :) Bluemersen (+) 09:22, 17 April 2014 (UTC)
I tried it just few minutes ago. It works nicely. Thanks a lot. Bluemersen (+) 10:09, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

Wikidata item deletionEdit

Hello! You've deteled the wikimedia item I created and left a message for me (User_talk:Tohaomg#Items_for_user_pages). How can I connect my userpages on different languages then? I've seen some users succeeded in this. Thanks in advance. -- User:Tohaomg 18:49 UTC, 18 April 2014

You can use the old way of connecting links, i.e. adding interwiki links on the bottom of your user page. (For example, please see User:Bluemersen) Bluemersen (+) 18:59, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
