Notification for a RfD about family name items.

In RFD there are a lot of item proposed for the deletion created by you. If you do not agree you can participate in the debate

Salut ! J'ai reçu un mail disant que l'outil Wikidata-Nolabels tourne toujours sur le "Strech Grid Engine", et je suppose que tu l'as reçu aussi, vu qu'on est tous les deux admins de cet outil sur la Toolforge (et que tu en es le créateur, me semble-t-il)

Il me semble que l'outil ne marche plus du tout (et je ne suis pas sûr que le besoin auquel il répond existe encore), du coup a priori il faudrait le supprimer, non ?

Je peux regarder aussi ce qui se passe pour le "réparer" si besoin est.

Je découvre dans la documentation du repo que son but est de "Queries WDQ, the Wikidata database and prints a selection of items without label in a specified language."

Je sais qu'il était utilisé par @Framawiki, @Harmonia Amanda et HSarrazin aussi.

Oui désolée j'ai mis du temps à répondre, mais d"sormais toutes les requêtes qui utilisaient nolabels sont faites en SPARQL, pas besoin de maintenir encore l'outil ! (et merci de l'avoir créé à l'époque).

We are about to drop the mw.config.get( 'wbEntity') config value, that is deprecated for two years. Starting on Wednesday, July 24th, scripts that use this value may encounter issues.

I noticed that your script located on User:Dereckson/namescript.js is still using this value. I suggest that you update it, for example by using the hook wikibase.entityPage.entityLoaded (see an example here).

Didn't see that one, it was lost in the flood of notifications I'm pinged for the project names.

As I pointed out 7 months ago in Topic:Tdz5u4t94t8u27ls, some of the descriptions your bot is adding are not right. Your bot is still making exactly the same mistakes now. Please fix your bot and clean up the descriptions it has already added.

In particular:

• Stop adding de-formal labels.
• Stop capitalising words which should not be capitalised. This query finds over 130,000 descriptions which are capitalised when the corresponding labels on family name (Q101352) are not - not all of them came from your bot, but a large number of them did).

So to summarize, you wish we:

1. remove 'de-formal' code from the language list
2. sort descriptions: it must be written in lowercase in some languages, ie don't trust the labels from the Family name item
