Nom de subdivisions administratives en langue française

Bonjour,

J'ai supprimé une grosse partie de tes modifications quant aux noms de subdivisions admiratives en langue française. Typiquement qu'on désigne le canton de Genève, on parle du canton de Genève et Genève. Genève désigne la ville qui a donné son nom au canton mais il s'agit bien de deux choses différentes qu'il convient de nommer correctement et de distinguer de cette manière.

Tes modifications pour les autres langues étaient elles réellement justifiées ? Ludo29 (talk) 14:41, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Hello. To avoid ambiguity between different objects with the same name (Geneva -- canton, Geneva -- city), you should use a description rather than adding a clarification to the label. I don't think you say things like "The canton of Geneva is a canton in Switzerland" or "Switzerland is a federal republic composed of 26 cantons: the canton of Geneva, the canton of Jura, the canton of Fribourg..." and so on. Je ne dis pas "The canton of Geneva is a canton in Switzerland" or "Switzerland is a federal republic composed of 26 cantons: the canton of Geneva, the canton of Jura, the canton of Fribourg..." parce que, pour le moment, nous parlons de la langue française pour laquelle nous disons :

• "Le canton de Genève est un canton de Suisse
• La Suisse est une confédération composée de 26 cantons : le canton de Genève, le canton du Jura, le canton de Fribourg. ou plus simplement La Suisse est une confédération composée de 26 cantons : les cantons de Jura, Vaud, Berne, etc.

Mais oui quand on veut évoquer le canton de Fribourg ou parle bien du canton de Fribourg et pas de Fribourg. canton de n'est PAS une cléf de détermination. C'est une partie intégrante du nom. Ludo29 (talk) 15:22, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Comme tu peux le voir ici sur les sites officiels, le nom est bien canton de Berne et non pas Bern. De la même manière le nom en langue allemande est bien Kanton Bern et non pas Bern.

Il faudrait donc que tu supprimes aussi tes modifications en allemand et même en italien Ludo29 (talk) 15:33, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

See how the canton of Geneva is described in the German-language Wikidpedia [1]: Genf (schweizerdeutsch Gämf/Gänf, französisch Genève [ʒənɛv, ʒnɛv], frankoprovenzalisch Zeneva [ðəˈnɛva, ˈzɛnəva], italienisch Ginevra, rätoromanisch Genevra?/i), amtlich franz. République et Canton de Genève ‚Republik und Kanton Genf‘, ist ein Kanton der Schweiz. Or here is the description of the canton Bern [2]: "Bern (Kürzel BE; berndeutsch Bärn [b̥æːrn], französisch Berne, italienisch Berna, rätoromanisch Berna?/i) ist ein Kanton im Westen der Schweiz." Comme te le montre la constitution suisse, on parle bien, aussi en langue allemande de kanton Bern, kanton fribourg etc. iciLudo29 (talk) 18:23, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
