Editions edit

Hello Erick Soares3. Thank you for contributing to Wikidata. I appreciate your work here.

I see that you are translating s:en:Alice's Adventures Under Ground into Portuguese and linking it to Alice's Adventures Under Ground (Q9020589). That is fantastic! However, Alice's Adventures Under Ground (Q9020589) is the data item for the English edition published in 1864, and your Portuguese edition published in 2019 should be a different data item. Would you like me to help you create this new item for your translation?

You can read more about how to link Wikisource with Wikidata at Wikidata:Wikisource/How to help, and I can also answer questions. Beleg Tâl (talk) 19:24, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Beleg Tâl:! Well, that edition I created from zero based upon the English text. This isn't the same case as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Q92640)? I just wanna see both languages linked in the "languages list". Erick Soares3 (talk) 19:36, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, when works on Wikisource are correctly set up in Wikidata, the interwiki links do not generate the "languages list" properly. The Wikidata developers know about this problem, and they suggest that we link the pages manually (like this). Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Q92640) has the same problem: s:pt:Alice no País das Maravilhas is a translated edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Q92640) and should have a different data item. If I understand the conventions that are used at Portuguese Wikisource, then the correct page to link to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Q92640) is s:pt:Anexo:Versões/Alice no País das Maravilhas Beleg Tâl (talk) 19:49, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
