Merging edit

Hi FocalPoint. For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from the help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" which automatically places a request for deletion for the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests. Regards, Jianhui67 talkcontribs 10:00, 17 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Christiania and tools used edit

This is for my own used, so that I remember what I did and how:

Following a discussion in Greek Agora, I realized a mistake made by many wikipedias, propagated in Wikidata:

  • There was no Christiania (Q21711493) defined in Wikidata, since all articles on Oslo (Q585) contain a paragraph on its history as Christiania. but there was no separated article on Christiania only.
  • As a result, whoever died (or was born) in the city then called Christiania and now called Oslo, appeared as having died (or born) in Oslo

so... it is obvious that all items concerning people who died / were born in "Oslo" between 1624 and 1924, had to be processed, so that Oslo is removed and Christiania is added in place of death / birth.

This I did using http://tools.wmflabs.org/autolist/index.php? with the Wikidata Query: between[569,1624,1924] AND claim[19:585]. I am giving here the Permalink for this query: http://tools.wmflabs.org/autolist/index.php?language=en&project=wikipedia&category=&depth=12&wdq=between%5B569%2C1624%2C1924%5D%20AND%20claim%5B19%3A585%5D&pagepile=&statementlist=-P20%3A585%0AP20%3A21711493&run=Run&mode_manual=or&mode_cat=or&mode_wdq=not&mode_find=or&chunk_size=10000

... and then ... I gave the command in the WiDar command box:

-P19:585
P19:21711493
the first one removed Oslo (Q585) from place of birth (P19) (place of birth) [1] and
the second added Christiania (Q21711493) (Christiania) to place of birth (P19) (place of birth) [2]

Creating items not notable edit

Hello, items you've recently created doesn't appear to be notable. Their birth dates being mentioned at some place isn't enough. Can you explain your reasoning for creation of these items? Thanks.-- Hakan·IST 21:45, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Notes for my used for quick_statements edit

Usage notes for Quick Statements of Magnus Menske:

I missed in the instructions the most important fact, that only one row per statement can be used (despite the fact that Magnus is giving this information in the first sentence).

So here is an example for the creation of a new item, with 6 statements - see result in Q23299672:

CREATE
LAST Lel Ιωάννης Ψαράς (Label-el)
LAST P31 Q5 (is... human)
LAST P21 Q6581097 (gender... man)
LAST P569 +00000001946-08-03T00:00:00Z/11 P248 Q21087031 (born on 1946-08-03 with accuracy 11=day, 09=month, 07=year, stated in Πρεβεζάνικα Χρονικά. Ευρετήριο τευχών 1-50)

The parentheses are only put here for explanation, they must not be in the instructions. These statements were put in excel, so that when coping-pasting, the TAB character is being used, which is used by quick statements as separator.

Note: unfortunately, the last statement is putting the reference info directly on the P569, see Q23299672, not as a reference - if someone knows how to do it propeply, please let me know how to do it.

non-fiction writer edit

Please stop putting ths without good causes putting in data sets. This is very problematic in some other languages than english. And for scientists this is simply not neccessary. The gras is green. No cause, this to say everywhere. Marcus Cyron (talk) 17:22, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Menander edit

It is redundant to say that a comedy writer is a writer. A "comedy writer" is a "writer", without having to say so, since the one is a subcategory of the other. So, please stop adding redundant information. --EncycloPetey (talk) 13:04, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi EncycloPetey, thank you. I did not notice it. I agree with you. --FocalPoint (talk) 13:39, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

For you info: I checked the whole wikidata, there were 21 items with this combination and I removed the more general "writer" description. If you notice any other similar instance, please let me know. It is quite simple to find it and fix it. --FocalPoint (talk) 13:56, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you agree with me, then why do you keep putting the claim into the entry. You've done this three times now. --EncycloPetey (talk) 13:07, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi EncycloPetey , I apologize. I reset the query and it found again those that you removed - I did not realize this. I will redo the procedure I indicated above. --FocalPoint (talk) 13:47, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

I just undid nine in total. --FocalPoint (talk) 13:55, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

You're doing it again. In this edit, you added "writer" to a "tragedy writer". There were several of these. You need to rethink your data and process. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:55, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

EncycloPetey, I removed all of these here and I will repeat both processes at the end of the run. Thank you. --FocalPoint (talk) 04:14, 4 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

URGENT: Extremely bad quality of occupation (P106) lawyer (Q40348) import edit

Hi. Your recent import of occupation (P106) lawyer (Q40348) is mostly wrong. Technically speaking, you have added lawyer (Q40348) to most of politicians just because they have finished some jurisprudence university, and have never helped clients and never represented them in a court of law. This includes presidents Yatsenyuk and Putin. If you have any idea how to correct this, please, correct these edits. If not, I'll undo thousands of your edits without further ado. It is better not to have P106 than displaying all politicians as advocates. --Lockal (talk) 10:32, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Lockal, my suggestion is to undo whatever we are sure is wrong, for people who have never practised law. In my experience, many politicians who have finished the law school have practised law at some point in their career (even for a short time interval), so they have been lawyers, even though later they may have become members of parliament, presidents, government ministers or anything else. All the people to whom I have assigned the occupation (P106) lawyer (Q40348), have been characterized as lawyer (Q40348) in the respective categories in various wikipedias. I propose that you do not blindly undo everything, however, I will not oppose any undo action, even if I think it is wrong. This is up to you. --FocalPoint (talk) 17:00, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please note that the English version of Wikipedia clearly says that en:Arseniy Yatsenyuk had indeed a legal career between December 1992 and September 1997. --FocalPoint (talk) 17:44, 8 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Philippe de La Hire was an architect edit

My apologies for reverting you. At first I thought this attribution was highly questionable. According to the French architectural historian Louis Hautecoeur, De La Hire was really a mathematician. Yes, he applied mathematics to architectural problems and taught the subject at the Académie d'architecture, but did he actually design any buildings that we know of? Nevertheless, I did find a good reference that supports calling him an architect. I'll add it to the English Wikipedia. --Robert.Allen (talk) 17:39, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Robert.Allen, no problem! Feel free to revert whatever you think wrong. --FocalPoint (talk) 19:06, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wrong use of occupation (P106) edit

Please stop adding that property to items that are not an instance of human (Q5). I have reverted way too many wrong edits already. It is not fair for other users to spend time undoing your edits, so please fix your wrongs before continuing with any more importing. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 15:42, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andreasm, thank you very much for pointing out this error. There was no need to invest more time, it was enough to tell me. I have done here, what you suggested: I removed the property occupation (P106) architect (Q42973) from (almost) all items with occupation (P106):architect (Q42973) who are not instance of (P31):human (Q5). Almost means I left some which are obviously correct, just missing the instance of (P31):human (Q5).

If you see anything else, please do not hesitate to tell me. Just revert one or two examples and explain to me the problem. I will fix it as soon as possible. --FocalPoint (talk) 21:48, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

...and of course.... from all those which I reverted, there were several humans and architects, which were not declared as humans. I am putting them in as arhitects (again) and humans this time. --FocalPoint (talk) 22:25, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

If it was an organisation may be it is possible to use field of work (P101) architecture (Q12271). --Infovarius (talk) 18:35, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I just found out that we have architectural firm (Q4387609) :) --FocalPoint (talk) 19:16, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Once again, stop adding occupation (P106) to items that are not humans. I had to revert you again. Please review all your edits and fix all errors introduced. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 14:35, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andreasm. Thank you for the corrections. I will review all 51 instances of non-humans who have occupation (P106) and historian (Q201788) (either made by myself or not) and I will fix them. --FocalPoint (talk) 15:29, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Do not add any more statements before fixing all your wrong edits. I just realized that you have continued editing without addressing the issue. Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 15:54, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

At the same time I added labels and generally took care of omissions. As promised originally, I will review other instances (either made by myself or not) and I will fix them. --FocalPoint (talk) 18:13, 20 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Translation in Modern Greek edit

Hi in meta:User_talk:Saintfevrier#Translation_in_Greek_and_a_new_tool I've asked Saintfevrier a translation but she did not reply to me.

So I made this tool with another guy and it uses both local requested image categories and wikidata (sort of extended "wikishootme"). But not all local requested image cats so far, we are introducing them on by one. We have svwiki, itwiki, cawiki, frwiki, jawiki. We can upload elwiki's w:el:Κατηγορία:Αιτήσεις για εικόνες too, of course but now we are working on nlwiki. And there are too many P18 false flags, we have to show at the moment only buildings not places otherwise the upload is too slow. In any case, it kinda works and in the future a lot of pinpoints will be also categorized.

I have provided a translation of the introduction (language detected by browser) in English, French, Spanish, German, Swedish... can you help me with Modern Greek?

The sooner we start to use it, the faster we can make it work 100%. And more importantly, local wiki should start to think about how useful local requested image categories are. ptwiki and ruwiki already use wikidata for georeferenced missing images (in some way). Local templates are often obsolete and sometimes just a duplicate of the information from wikidata P18 pinpoint.

So, can you help me with the translation and than, possibly, with the introduction to elwiki (when ready)--Alexmar983 (talk) 03:04, 23 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

ok, I will speed up the upload also the GreekWiki requested image category but it is almost irrelevant statistically (just a hundred of articles).--Alexmar983 (talk) 20:57, 23 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Alexmar983, see the original and translation:

Many Wikipedia articles have no images or only few. Some of them talk about things that are out there, ready to be photographed. Find them all!

Instructions

  • Use the top-left button to adjust the zoom or double click into the map. You can also click on a cluster near the location you want to explore.
  • Use the top-right button to filter pinpoints by category.
  • Use the bottom-right button to go to your current position.
  • Pass over a pinpoint to see its name. Make a click for more details and links.

Take pictures and upload them to Wikimedia Commons, then resolve the related warning (e.g. removing the template in its page or adding the image to Wikidata) and at the next run you will see the pinpoint disappear. Great job!

For any trouble or suggestion write on this page. This is an open source project! Let's code together in this Github repository.

The tool updates the view once a day. Please be patient, it takes a while to load all the data.

multi-volume series that got an occupation edit

Hi. I just undid this change that gave a publication a biography. Not sure what else got mucked up at that time, though at least you can review what happened at that time.  — billinghurst sDrewth 06:00, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi billinghurst, I will check this up. If you are familiar with SQL and you would like the idea to help, I would appreciate if you could provide the PagePileID of a query which would find all instances of items having a profession (P106) which are not human (Q5), or any subclass (P279) of fictional entity (Q14897293). --FocalPoint (talk) 22:07, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Not my skill set unfortunately, and no patience to learn over getting the data into place. I am waiting for the WYSIWYG interface (and will probably be waiting for a while).  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:28, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Mythological Greek kings edit

I've just finished fixing the only three items we actually have for specific mythological Greek kings:

I would suggest creating specific items for each king (mythological king of Thebes, mythological king of Argos, mythological king of Cos ...): do you agree? Thank you for your great edits, --Epìdosis 18:13, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Epìdosis I merged the older item king of Troy (Q13518413) with the item Q27921442 you created. I agree with your suggestion, for the moment I will check that the kings of Toy and Athens have the relevant item as position held (P39). Let me know if you create any specific kings, so that I help populating the relevant items.

By the way, I am (not anymore) missing:

I am only asking you to put one of each at one athlete. I will then find the translation. --FocalPoint (talk) 21:16, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

All   Done. --Epìdosis 15:04, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Epìdosis: I came to make a comment about the exact same subject! ;-) I didn't know about King of Athens (Q13534353), seems like an interesting category of items! We could also say instead of using position held (P39), since King of Athens (Q13534353) is a subclass of king in Greek mythology (Q24434794). It looks fine to me either way; maybe it's a bit more elegant than using instance of (P31) directly? --Azertus (talk) 23:51, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Azertus, kings and queens are instance of (P31) of people. Look at any king or queen. Their being a king or queen is an position held (P39). --FocalPoint (talk) 00:04, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

I guess you're right. It's just that there's a direct chain (class to subclass) from (e.g.) mythological Greek character (Q22988604) to king in Greek mythology (Q24434794) to King of Athens (Q13534353), which made me feel we could use the most specific one with instance of (P31). Using a second claim with position held (P39), like you propose, is probably more clear...
That leaves the question, which would you use out of mythological Greek character (Q22988604) and king in Greek mythology (Q24434794) with instance of (P31)? --Azertus (talk) 00:22, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
I propose this solution: position held (P39) with specific items for king of Sparta/Thebes/Athens and, where we add position held (P39), substitute in instance of (P31) mythological Greek character (Q22988604) to king in Greek mythology (Q24434794). Do you agree? --Epìdosis 06:41, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Sounds good! --Azertus (talk) 17:51, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

They were (instance of (P31)) people (human (Q5)) in fact. Even though they are counted as mythological, they were real people, it is just that their stories are in some cases mixed (more or less) with myths. Nevertheless, please proceed as you think best. --FocalPoint (talk) 06:47, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

So: firstly we add the specific kingdom to these items; then we discuss about their instance of (P31). --Epìdosis 15:21, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

I didn't mean to assign the job to you! Just leaving them here for reference. If I have time I'll take some on as well, but I was not sure about some, like king of Aethiopia. Should we create the item if there's just one candidate to use it on (not sure that's the case, just haven't checked yet)? --Azertus (talk) 21:56, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Azertus: I did the ones you suggested: in my opinion one single item justifies the creation of such items. --Epìdosis 11:30, 29 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
@Epìdosis: can you please delete inappropriate labels from new items? It is more convenient (by Reasonator, e.g.) to make labels when they are absent. --Infovarius (talk) 10:57, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Do you know if Petscan allows to substitute statements in one edit? Example: instead of removing P31:Q24434794 and adding P31:Q22988604, just changing the value of P31. Thank you, --Epìdosis 16:05, 3 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

You have to remove first, as far as I know. --FocalPoint (talk) 16:09, 3 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Amazons etc edit

I see that many Amazons (Q134154) are indicated with member of (P463) ... wouldn't ethnic group (P172) be a better choice? --Epìdosis 16:06, 6 December 2016 (UTC) P.S. Sign up here!Reply

I was still watching this page! Maybe ethnic group (P172) would also be better in ? I had the same dilemma on king of the Tuatha Dé Danann (Q27949886). --Azertus (talk) 18:21, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
By the way, what do you think of items with instance of (P31)Anemoi (Q476682)? Isn't instance of (P31) incorrect in this case? --Epìdosis 16:38, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Epìdosis, Azertus.

--FocalPoint (talk) 22:47, 6 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I didn't miss it: queen of Amazons (Q27926932). I agree about subclass of (P279)Anemoi (Q476682). --Epìdosis 10:18, 7 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
Ha ha ha ... you are good ! --FocalPoint (talk) 19:50, 7 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Same problem as Anemoi for Okeanid (Q182406) and all types of Nymphs (e.g. Admete (Q4679171)): what about instance of (P31)mythological Greek character (Q22988604) and subclass of (P279)Okeanid (Q182406)? Would you like doing it? --Epìdosis 12:47, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi User:Epìdosis, I think they are deities Greek deity (Q22989102), not persons. I will not do them right now. Maybe during the weekend. Let us see how it goes. --FocalPoint (talk) 12:58, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
In any case, member of (P463) was definitely wrong. All those we say here for Okeanid (Q182406) and all types of Nymphs are just good versus maybe better. So... not my top priority. My priority is to add info which is missing, to correct mistakes, then (in this order) to (just) improve things :) . --FocalPoint (talk) 13:05, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

To sum up:

Thank you, --Epìdosis 14:44, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree , even though I always feel unsure about issues like instance of (P31)Anemoi (Q476682) or subclass of (P279)Anemoi (Q476682). Both seem correct.

All I feel sure about is that they are deities: instance of (P31)Greek deity (Q22989102)

Happy New Year! edit

Thanks for your fantastic work this year on ancient Greece here on Wikidata. I hope next year we will continue! From Italy, --Epìdosis 10:20, 29 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Epìdosis, many wishes - thank you for all your support and interest. Be sure that whatever we are doing here, is automatically been seen in el-wikipedia through the templates. --FocalPoint (talk) 10:26, 29 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Gadget suggestion edit

I suggest you to enable the "Move" gadget in "Preferences" > "Gadgets" (section "Wikidata-centric"). I think it's really useful to transfer sitelinks from one item to another. Bye, --Epìdosis 19:28, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks Epìdosis. I just turned it on. I will let you know when I first use it :) --FocalPoint (talk) 20:33, 5 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Good Epìdosis, it works very well, it is easy and nice to use ! --FocalPoint (talk) 17:58, 7 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Messana edit

Pay attention to the difference beetween Messenia (Q1247159) and Messana (Q4023782): it's tricky :) Don't worry, you are doing a great job! Bye, --Epìdosis 21:55, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi Epìdosis, ha ha ha , thank you ! --FocalPoint (talk) 22:16, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Just another thing: Olympic victor, tethrippon (4-horse chariot) (Q23906229) is Tέθριππο; Olympic victor, synoris (two-horse chariot) (Q23906254) is Συνωρίς; Olympic victor, tethrippon for foals (Q23906282) is Άρμα πωλικόν. You probably used Olympic victor, tethrippon for foals (Q23906282) in many cases instead of the correct Olympic victor, tethrippon (4-horse chariot) (Q23906229); I'm slowly fixing them. Excuse me for the misundersting. Bye, --Epìdosis 22:03, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

This I must understand. --FocalPoint (talk) 22:16, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Epìdosis:

and

then what the $$%%%@!!! is....

  • Q23906272 (I see τεθρίππου πώλων)?

I have asked too many times for the help of Gts-tg, but I am at a loss about this... --FocalPoint (talk) 23:21, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Epìdosis/FocalPoint, I think that:

I have not made any changes.

Gts-tg (talk) 23:28, 16 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Gts-tg I made the changes necessary.

The only thing that I want to ask User:Epìdosis is about:

I am going to propose the second one for deletion (this is why I wrote in the name "TO BE DELETED" , I just want to be sure that you agree that there was only one sport with pouledri / άθλημα πώλων. --FocalPoint (talk) 08:55, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

You are right, I deleted Q23906272. Thank you and excuse me again, --Epìdosis 10:29, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mainly for my use: I am now checking...

still to do

Using this and that to control.

Elis edit

Hi! Would you clarify me the relationship between the ancient region Elis (or Eleia?), its ancient "capital" Elis and the adjective Ηλείος? I've never understood it perfectly. And would you also check if Ancient Elis (Q23038544) is to be merged into Ancient Elis (Q6536845)? Thank you very much, --Epìdosis 10:51, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Epìdosis, here we are:

The general area of Elis:

The city state of Elis:

  • Ήλιδα in modern Greek (but even in ancient Greek: Η Ήλις, της Ήλιδος, την Ήλιδα)
  • Ήλις in ancient form

(again add the psili to be correct)

No need to merge.

  • Ancient Elis (Q23038544) is general area from the geography point of view, not from modern or ancient administrative divisions point of view
  • Ancient Elis (Q6536845) is the ancient city-state, an administrative division, a state of antiquity

I hope I am clear. If not ask again. --FocalPoint (talk) 17:35, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Marco Pallis edit

Hello, I posted a requested here: Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard#Marco Pallis Q26226894. I see there is also in "grec : Μάρκος Πάλλης γιος του Αλέξανδρου Πάλλη " in Q26226894, to be added to Q2114825. Could you do this? Thanks in advance for your help. --Rédacteur Tibet (talk) 11:31, 11 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Rédacteur Tibet,

Olympics again edit

User:Epìdosis, User:Gts-tg, I am going to merge these two. Please let me know if you have any objections. --FocalPoint (talk) 18:17, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

--FocalPoint (talk) 17:32, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

They look like being the same to me, Epidosis will probably know better as he created both, and he has a note about duplication in the edit summaries. Gts-tg (talk) 18:30, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Olympic victor, mule-cart race (Q23906248) is Απήνη, Olympic victor, synoris (foals) (Q23906291) in Συνωρίς πωλική. They are different. --Epìdosis 21:01, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I think everything is OK now, many thanks to both. --FocalPoint (talk) 22:08, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Descriptions edit

Hi! How are you? I've just noticed that you added some descriptions (e.g.): usually descriptions should have the first letter non-capital, unless the language itself requires a capital letter (so I would write "γιος" instead of "Γιος"). Bye, --Epìdosis 17:35, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi User:Epìdosis, I was not aware of this guideline. In fact, looking at my contributions, I was doing either capital or small letter. I corrected several of my previous contributions. --FocalPoint (talk) 18:43, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Remember :) Have a good August, --Epìdosis 20:06, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Nauprestides edit

Are you sure of this addings? According to fr.wiki, Nauprestides are only the three daughters of Laomedon, not the sons. Are there sources which list also the sons? Thank you, --Epìdosis 13:48, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Many thanks User:Epìdosis, this was clearly wrong, I reverted it. You are really helping, by keeping an eye on my edits. --FocalPoint (talk) 13:54, 8 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wiki Classics user group edit

Hi! I've just started elaborating on Meta a draft of a user group dedicated mainly to ancient Greece and Rome. Maybe you could be interested in joining it. If you have any suggestion or improvement, write me. I will fix this draft together with Alexmar983 and publish it before the end of November. Thank you anyway! Template:Wikidata list edit

Katikei (talk) 06:28, 12 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

--FocalPoint (talk) 06:53, 14 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Greek articles edit

Hello.

Can you translate and upload en:Geology of Azerbaijan and en:Geography of Azerbaijan in Greek Wikipedia? They don't have to be long.

Wrong merge edit

Hello FocalPoint, you've merge a disambiguation page (Q12144940) with a defined object (Q3407542). Can you please restore the original versions. --Kolja21 (talk) 01:19, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Kolja21, these articles are all about the same thing, propanol-1 and propanol-2 (at minimum). I think it would be wrong to restore the original versions. --FocalPoint (talk) 06:35, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Even if you ignore the labels ("page d'homonymie de Wikimedia", "pachina de desambigación" etc.) you can't ignore instance of (P31): Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410) It's a disambiguation page! That is the result of your merge. If you think an item is not ambiguous don't merge it with a disambiguation page. --Kolja21 (talk) 06:48, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, but I do not understand. If you want to restore the defined object, you may do that, but it still contained disambguation pages. This makes no sense. I do not think that there is an item which is not ambiguous. I think both items described exactly the same thing. --FocalPoint (talk) 06:55, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

After your merge:
propanol (Q3407542) = instance of (P31): Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410)
propanol (Q3407542) = instance of (P31): group of isomeric entities (Q15711994)
es: medicamento, en:group of isomers = fr:page d'homonymie de Wikimedia
This item is total mess. You can delete or add single links to Wikipedia but you can't merge an item marked as "disambiguation page" with a defined object. --Kolja21 (talk) 01:06, 23 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Kolja21: the item Q3407542 has mixed sitelinks from the very beginning. And this is old problem of pseudo-disambigs (or "topical disambig", or "index sets"). I understand you both and propose to ignore "DISAMBIG" flag on pages and just to deal with all pages as articles about group of isomers. I've done corresponding fixes to the item. --Infovarius (talk) 13:47, 23 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Lübbert edit
