Écrivains avec label en russes mais non en français

Bonjour,

Mon outil semble, si guère confortablement, pouvoir renvoyer une telle liste :

1. Lancer Wikidata No Labels
2. Comme requête API, taper quelque chose ne renvoyant pas des centaines de milliers de résultats, par exemple claim[106:36180] pour les écrivains saturera la mémoire du serveur et de ton navigateur mais fonctionne de justesse
3. En bas, fr / ru en
4.  Attendre que les résultats arrivent
5. Trier sur la colonne russe

Si ça ne marche pas, essaye ceci :

1. Sur l'outil, sélectionner cette fois le second onglet Items list.
2. Dans le champs pour encoder des items, placer à la place l'URL les contenant, à savoir http://tools.wmflabs.org/autolist/index.php?wdq=claim%5B106%3A36180%5D&run=Run&chunk_size=80&download=1
3. En-dessous : fr / ru en
4. Être patient

Avec juste une seule colonne (ru sans en dans le cas présent), les performances sont légèrement meilleures.

Painters / creators

Hi Hsarrazin, thanks for you help with adding information to painters. We're currently in the process of importing creator templates from Commons. First iteration is to just create the item here, link it to Commons and link Commons back to the item here. In the next iteration we'll try to extract as much information as possible from the creator templates at Commons. You might want to give the bots a bit of time to do the second iteration so you don't have to do it yourself. Adding authority control data is very much appreciated, because that seems to be a bit harder to extract and we ran out of creators with authority control data. I found those in Entities without labels in French, because I mainly work in French... and added Fr label

I added some info (P31 especially), because I just could not see where these items came from, in the first place... items without direct links are not really very easy to work with, when you don't know what they are about…

then I thought of Commons, where I myself added many creators and completed them, and added wikidata ID to their templates ;)

I will be happy to help with AC, as I've done previously on Commons and Wikisource…

do you think it would be possible to add Commons Creator page (P1472) (link to Creator) and/or Commons category (P373) in the first iteration, so that these Creators are easier to track down among the many new items ?

@Multichill: - I've began to add AC here on wikidata, for Creators without AC on commons, but sometimes I add them on Commons, because the AC script does not work the same at all on both sites, and it's easier to use the Commons one, because you can modify the value searched in VIAF.

It would probably be a good idea to modify the AC template on Commons, to have it fetch wd values by default, and then use local values when added, and progressively transfer values from Commons to wikidata (like Tpt and I did for wikisource (fr)) - so that all AC finally land on wikidata :) --Hsarrazin (talk) 22:54, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

Structured Data on Commons update

Greetings,

After a delay in updates to the Structured data on Commons project, I wanted to catch you up with what has been going on over the past three months. In short: The project is on hold, but that doesn't mean nothing is happening.

The meeting in Berlin in October provided the engineering teams with a lot to start on. Unfortunately the Structured Data on Commons project was put on hold not too long after this meeting. Development of the actual Structured data system for Commons will not begin until more resources can be allocated to it.

The Wikimedia Foundation and Wikimedia Germany have been working to improve the Wikidata query process on the back-end. This is designed to be a production-grade replacement of WikidataQuery integrated with search. The full project is described at Mediawiki.org.This will benefit the structured data project greatly since developing a high-level search for Commons is a desired goal of this project.

The Wikidata development team is working on the arbitrary access feature. Currently it's only possible to access items that are connected to the current page. So for example on Vincent van Gogh you can access the statements on Q5582, but you can't access these statements on Category:Vincent van Gogh or Creator:Vincent van Gogh. With arbitrary access enabled on Commons we no longer have this limitation. This opens up the possibility to use Wikidata data on Creator, Institution, Authority control and other templates instead of duplicating the data (what we do now). This will greatly enhance the usefulness of Wikidata for Commons.

To use the full potential of arbitrary access the Commons community needs to reimplement several templates in LUA. In LUA it's possible to use the local fields and fallback to Wikidata if it's not locally available. Help with this conversion is greatly appreciated. The different tasks are tracked in phabricator, see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T89594 .

Volunteers are continuing to add data about artworks to Wikidata. Sometimes an institution website is used and sometimes data is being transfered from Commons to Wikidata. Wikidata now has almost 35.000 items about paintings. This is done as part of the WikiProject sum of all paintings. This helps us to learn how to d:Wikidata:WikiProject Visual arts/Item structuremodel and refine metadata about artworks. Experience that will of course be very useful for Commons too.

Additionally, the metadata cleanup drive continues to produce results. The drive, which is intended to identify files missing {{Information}} or the like structured data fields and to add such fields when absent, has reduced the number of files missing information by almost 100,000 on Commons. You can help by looking for files with similarly-formatted description pages, and listing them at Commons:Bots/Work requests so that a bot can add the {{Information}} template on them.

At the Amsterdam Hackathon in November 2014, a couple of different models were developed about how artwork can be viewed on the web using structured data from Wikidata. You can browse two examples here and here. These examples can give you an idea of the kind of data that file pages have the potential to display on-wiki in the future.

The Structured Data project is a long-term one, and the volunteers and staff will continue working together to provide the structure and support in the back-end toward front-end development. There are still many things to do to help advance the project, and I hope to have more news for you in the near future. Contact me any time with questions, comments, concerns.

on Q20724466 I used P195, but I'm not sure :/

anyway, I completed what I could on Creator and Collection, and added sources of frwp in P973, so that you can easily use it as source. :)

I don't know how to specify that a painting has disappeared : lost during ww2, impossible to find, etc.

Hi Hsarrazin, thanks for helping out! To answer your questions:

We use collection (P195) and location (P276). Often these are the same, but sometimes not, see for example The Rest on the Flight into Egypt with St. John the Baptist (Q18685319). Wikidata:WikiProject Visual arts/Item structure contains an overview.

Often paintings have been in a collection at some point in time. You can add that collection and qualify it with an end date. I usually create new items for missing churches so I can link it. Multichill (talk) 09:25, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Doublons liés à Commons

Bonjour,
Quand une personne possède à la fois une page et une catégorie dans Commons, apparemment, ça génère un doublon ; il me semble (mais c'est peut-être parce que je ne suis pas très à l'aise) qu'on ne peut pas lier un élément wikidata à deux pages sur Commons, donc comment on peut éliminer les doublons, dans ce cas ?

la gestion des liens vers Commons est toujours un problème, et l'object de RfC régulièrement, sans trouver de solution satisfaisante pour tous les éléments. - il y en a d'ailleurs une en cours.

pour les liens, on met la galerie dans Commons gallery (P935) et la catégorie en Commons category (P373) - pour les auteurs et artistes, on peut aussi ajouter un lien vers le Creator: en Commons Creator page (P1472)

le lien interwiki est préférablement la galerie, et la catégorie, uniquement s'il n'y a pas de galerie... - j'ai fusionné les 2 Ingrid :) - il fallait virer la catégorie qui avait êté mise en "Autres liens" pour pouvoir faire un Merge... --Hsarrazin (talk) 19:40, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Question sur le format ISBN

J'ai une question sur le format de ISBN. Actuellement les ISBN avec et sans tirets sont acceptés, j'aurais une légère préférence pour les ISBN avec tirets vu qu'ils sont significatifs mais sans conviction pour le moment. Je lis sur Property talk:P212 « no officially preferred presentation of the ISBN according to the standard. », or il me semblait que la norme ISO disait justement le contraire (au plutôt, de mémoire, elle disait que l'on pouvait utiliser le tiret ou l'espace au choix mais que la séparation en groupes était obligatoire). J'ai surtout une question qui aiderait à trancher : est-ce que plusieurs numéros ISBN avec tirets peuvent correspondre au même numéro sans tiret ? (si oui, ce serait perturbant et surtout cela rendrait mathématiquement impossible de retrouver les numéros avec tirets).

bonjour VIGNERON,

normalement l'isbn doit avoir des tirets, ou des blancs, sinon il s'agit de l'EAN (code commercial). En effet, les tirets séparent les données relatives à la langue, à l'éditeur, au numéro de publication d'un éditeur... + la clé. La séparation en blocs est nécessaire pour que l'ISBN puisse être compris par un humain (identification code éditeur = 11= Documentation Française, etc.).

dans la pratique, il n'est en principe pas possible d'avoir 2 isbn différents avec les mêmes chiffres et les tirets à des endroits différents, mais il y a parfois des accidents, qui sont annotés comme "ISBN erronné" par les bibliothécaires... on s'en aperçoit quand on rentre un isbn dans le catalogue de la BNF et qu'on a plusieurs résultats qui ne sont pas le même bouquin… généralement, il s'agit d'erreur de la part de l'éditeur/imprimeur :)

techniquement, depuis le passage à l'ISBN-13 (identique à l'EAN, mais avec tirets), ça n'a plus beaucoup d'importance, tant que le passage de l'un à l'autre est automatique --Hsarrazin (talk) 15:12, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

Je mets les ISBN erronné à part (on ne peut pas blâmer le système pour des informations qui sont contraire au dit système).

Par contre, pour les ISBN sans erreurs, il est impossible d'avoir deux ISBN différents A-BBB-CCCCC-D et A-BBBC-CCCC-D qui soient tout les deux valides ? Si 11 est le code éditeur de la Documentation française, cela veut dire qu'aucun autre éditeur n'a un code commençant par 11 ? D'ailleurs, existe-t-il quelque part une liste des codes éditeurs ? Je sais que l'AFNIL a un moteur de recherche mais difficile d'en extraire une liste (qui serait pourtant bien pratique à bien des égards).

le même numéro d'éditeur peut exister, mais pas dans la même langue en principe :) - comme les numéros ont été attribués par des agences, si elles ont bien fait leur boulot, il ne devrait pas y avoir d'erreur...

De mon côté, je suis tombé sur ce billet de blog et notamment sur la phrase « les codes éditeurs (C) ne peuvent correspondre qu’à une certaine plage de valeur (de 01 à 19, de 200 à 349, de 400 à 699, etc.). » du coup pas de de code 20 ou 350, ce doit être cela qui évite le problème de A-BBB-CCCCC-D vs. A-BBBC-CCCC-D. Il faut que je creuse plus en détail mais potentiellement cela veut dire que l'on pourrait écrire un script (en adaptant juste un peu celui du billet de blog) pour ajouter automatiquement les tirets partout ainsi que d'affiner la contrainte de format des ISBN pour mieux détecter les erreurs.

At Wikidata:Database reports/Recent deaths/missing, I added a few partial lists drawn from Wikidata:Database reports/Recent deaths with items lacking a given property. In the main list, there are now also a few charts and the number of sitelinks/statements per item. The last part is gradually filling, as the new rdf triples become available.
