Merging items

Hallo INS Pirat,

For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

Merge of items about Thibaud of Montlhéry

Hi, you have merged Thibaud of Montlhéry (Q24260521) into Thibaud of Montlhéry (Q16679893) but I don't think this is right. Q16679893 (french wikipedia) is about 2 people of the same name : one is Q24260521 (german wikipedia) and the other is Thibaud de Montmorency (Q2417108). An item can't be about an human (P31:Q5) and about disambiguation (P31:Q4167410). Can you revert your change ? --Melderick (talk) 11:50, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Melderick, OK, sorry, I hadn't paid attention to that because the current disambiguation page is referred in the article by the person's nickname. But now I think that the disambig is actually excessive and could be transformed into an article on that person, since, first, there is no separate page dedicated to him exclusively, and second, the article doesn't mention the connection of its subject (another Thibaud) to Montlhery family (however, I'm afraid I don't speak French, and I use online translator to understand it, so it's possible I've got something wrong). --INS Pirat (t | c) 14:05, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Surf music (Q220830), Surf rock (Q16011695)

Happy New Year! I'm not a music expert, but I notice for example that fiwiki has both surf music (Q220830) and surf pop (Q8095474), so maybe the merger you suggest isn't ok with everybody. Ciao, Ary29 (talk) 09:58, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Добрый день! Сообщаю, что Ваши изменения в элементах Q4112929 и Q5880 следует признать сомнительными. В большинстве статей главное внимание уделено vaginae hominis (femininae). Русская статья, которая называется Влагалище женщины и белорусская Похва чалавека (рэпрадуктыўная сістэма), оказались в элементе Q5880. Прошу повернуть старую версию. • В большинстве среди каких статей? «Главное внимание» — не то же самое, что «темой является». Уточните, пожалуйста, с какими конкретно действиями вы не согласны и что предлагаете сделать? Раздельные элементы для влагалища (влагалища млекопитающих) и человеческого влагалища (влагалища женщины) существовали и до моих правок (в силу в том числе наличия статей на обе темы в украинском, нидерландском разделах и разделе на интерлингве). Второй из них я, правда, видимо, сразу не заметил, поэтому из Q5880 поначалу выносил посвящённые конкретно человеку в новый элемент (не помню, почему одну ссылку я туда взял-таки из Q4112929 — может, не сообразил сразу).   Что касаемо Peoples.ru, то данный сайт весьма давно функционирует - ещё с 1998 года (в Архиве Интернета история с 24 января 2000 года). Но сперва он представлял в основном истории жизни отдельных персоналий и лишь в феврале 2001 года на сайте начали появляться полноценные биографические статьи. По энциклопедии журнала Вокруг света, то здесь её функционал совпадает с Википедией, но при условии регистрации на сайте, а её достоверность подтверждается первичными АИ, хотя информацию потом предстоит обновлять, поскольку часть пользователей энциклопедии ушла в Википедию. GWC Dixon and cricket

CricketArchive is considered the ultimate guide to cricket. GWC Dixon is listed there as playing a single non-first class match. The Trove article is vague, not contemporaneous and is completely unreliable. Before we had electronic communication and databases LOTS of people claimed to have achieved things that they actually had not. Whilst the CricketArchive pages are subscription only (you can hit the stop page loading X at exactly the right time before the pay page pops up), this list of Tasmania first class cricketers from ESPNCricinfo is definitive going back to the 1850s and has no mention of GWC Dixon.
