I added "gl" (Galician), "ia" (Interlingua), "ie" (Interlingue), "io" (Ido), "mk" (Macedonian), "vo" (Volapük).
I don't think they could serve as reference, but so you can build a complete and reliable list of Wikipedias. --Ricordisamoa 01:57, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have very poor / no Javascript skills. I will explain it in the irc channel later.

Bot edit

Per WD:Bots, please make request for your bot. Thanks. --by Revi레비 at 12:48, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is that required if there is no automatic editing, just an API-based interface? If so, I will stop immediately. Inductiveload (talk) 12:50, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
As requested in IRC: Wikidata:Requests_for_permissions/Bot/InductiveBot. :-) Inductiveload (talk) 13:54, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

InductiveBot edit

Your bot has been listed at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Removal/Inactive bot accounts as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure it's proposed to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can rerequest the bot flag at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot should you need it again. Of course, You may request retaining your bot flag here if you need the bot flag. Regards--GZWDer (talk) 12:01, 26 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

The bot flag has been removed. Lymantria (talk) 06:09, 8 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia article, Wikidata item on English Wikisource edit

Hi Inductiveload,

I noticed you converted to LUA one of the navigation templates at English Wikisource, so I thought I'd mention a point I find odd:

e.g. at s:A_Naval_Biographical_Dictionary/Marryat,_Frederick_(a), it includes "Wikipedia article, Wikidata item".

The first links to a Wikipedia article about the person, the second to a Wikidata item about the article (Q23990100), but there is no link to the item about the person (Q467770).

As Q23990100 is already linked in the sidebar, maybe Q467770 could be linked somewhere as well. It's available through Q23990100#P921. If there are several values, maybe only the first should be used. --- Jura 09:13, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, it's still somewhat in progress. We really need to have a separate list for the "links about the text" and "links about the subject". WD support at WS is still pretty raw. I'm trying to work on it, but there are lots of things to cover. Inductiveload (talk) 19:51, 29 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I noticed there wasn't much done to add these before. Links to works in addition to links the present edition could be another dimension.
For mere navigation purposes, for me, a discreet icon or dot linking to the main subject would be most helpful. --- Jura 21:00, 4 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
For sure, better presentation of Wikidata info about WS articles is on the list. However, we are still very much in the process of trying to figure out schemas for the data in general. In particular, most articles "about" something (as opposed to, say a novel) appear in collective works like periodicals and encyclopedias, and we don't have a complete bibliographic schema for such works. Inductiveload (talk) 20:46, 6 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
biographical articles are fairly common and well documented at Wikidata (partially, because someone had initially messed them up), see e.g. Help:Import_BLKÖ_from_wikisource. dewikisource has a prominent infobox on such articles (I'd probably have chosen another layout, but it's efficient in terms of content displayed). --- Jura 09:47, 7 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Historical Bibliographic Data edit

Hi!

Thanks for attending the Pre-ISBN/ISSN bibliographic data workshop at WikidataCon 2021. It would be great to continue the conversation with you at Linked Pasts VII, a free online conference held 13-21 December.

Simon Cobb and I will be leading two activities Monday and Wednesday: User:Marianika/Linked_Pasts_VII

Whether or not you can attend, if you're still interested in historical bibliographic data, could you please add your name and/or projects to this page I created for the wider initiative of getting people in academia and/or in the GLAM sector and/or in the Wiki communities to talk about how to model their historical bibliographic data (pre-ISBN/ISSN/ISMN):

User:Marianika/Historical_Bibliographic_Data

If you're no longer interested, you can also let me know and I'll stop bugging you, ;- )

See you again next week perhaps! Marianika (talk) 17:31, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

scripts/ShowQsAndPs.js edit

Hi, I use your script, but I get JavaScript errors on some pages. I believe they are caused by a links with missing href a attributes:

Uncaught TypeError: val.getAttribute(...) is null
   <anonymous> https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=User:Inductiveload/scripts/ShowQsAndPs.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript:15

I therefore suggest you replace line 15 in the script:

const qid = val.getAttribute( 'href' ).replace( /^.*\//,  );

with:

const qid = ( val.getAttribute( 'href' ) || ).replace( /^.*\//,  );

That should fix the issue. You might also want to duplicate the !/^Q\d+$/.test( qid ) check to line ~32. Cheers, --Magnus Manske (talk) 13:50, 15 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
