Hello,

I am confused as to why Q123413624 & Q123413790 has been deleted. They are both noteworthy entries & have 0 to do with any SEO benefit.

I have talked on stage across the UK about business and entrepreneurship, i have a book on Amazon & Google Books.

It seems like I am being penalised solely for being in an industry. Can you explain why these violate your criteria, they haven't been spammed & I have provided references.

My instagram alone has over 30k business followers, and is followed by numerous celebrities including the founder of Reebok plus any more. Insta: adamcollinsseo

Would be great to understand why these are deleted & provide guidance

Adam

The notability of the company is heavily based on your notability. Your notability is mostly based on 1 source: business-insider. The promotional tone of the description in both items are also reasons to see the article as promotional.

Adamcollins1993 (talkcontribs)

Ahh okay, so would it be possible to reinstate the adam collins one, and i change the tone so it is not promotional?

I have been featured here: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/technology/the-future-of-seo-how-ai-is-redefining-seo-digital-marketing/ar-AA1e6G8k

I have been featured on Yahoo and Bloomberg etc, but they are similar articles.

I could work on publishing an article more about business rather than SEO, would that help?

To prove notability it's important that reliable independent sources write about you. Not that you write about yourself. I'll restore the item about you, but it's up to you to prove notability so it won't be deleted again in the future.

Placing a Freebase link or knowledge format diagram in Wikidata

David jazes (talkcontribs)

Hello, how can I find the freebase link or artist knowledge format diagram in google and put it in wikidata. I copied Google several times but it didn't work in Wikidata. Thank you for your guidance David jazes (talk) 09:15, 12 January 2023 (UTC)

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

Only the URL's of the Freebase that has been shutdown are accepted (for historic purposes). Current knowledge graph URL's aren't accepted by any property.

David jazes (talkcontribs)

For example, this is the link of the artist panel in Google, I want to put it in Wikidata 👉👉 https://g.co/kgs/2EuRSF 👉👉 Can you edit it??? Or for example this link*** /m/01qcxmf*** I want to edit like this link and put it in wikidataDavid jazes (talk)

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

Then there has to be created a new property for that and that's something that needs to be requested here.

Could you restore Q116690325? I don't see your reasons for removing it as being in any way objective or substantive. Splitting an item where articles obviously describe different things (both based on their title and based on their content) into current (wider) concept and its sub-concept is quite common and standard practice on WD. I don't see how it can be called repurposing in this context. Not to mention the fact that you did it without warning or any communication in the middle of the splitting process.

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

I wasn't active any more when you posted this and see a colleague already undeleted the item. From the changes I saw, it looked like you were changing power ballad into sentimental ballad. I saw the history now and saw it got messed up pretty long time ago where the two concepts got mixed up, so you actions were correct and mine incorrect.

Hello. I recently spent quite some time building out this page after getting feedback from another moderator. I understand I'm obviously not meeting the criteria which really is unfortunate.

I don't want to be "that person" but are you able to share how other "human" wikidata pages without notability ie: other wiki pages are able to stay live? (Example: Q4864720) seems to be a chicken/egg situation where one must start with one page to unlock the ability to have others created on various wikis.

As you may have seen, I've contributed to a book with an ISBN, guests on multiple podcasts, wrote for top industry publications and even been recognized for my work as a digital marketer by the top journalist in our industry.

any feedback/direction you can provide would be much appreciated -- thank you!

Nick

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

The linked example "Barry Schwartz" is notable due to the fact he has an article on Wikipedia. That you contributed to a book with an ISBN, isn't something that makes you notable. It seems you want an Wikidata article, because it makes you more relevant for search engines. But that's not Wikidata is for. An item on Wikidata, doesn't automatically make you notable for an article on Wikipedia, but the other way around it does make you notable (at least as long as the article exists).

Hi Mbch331 -- thanks for the quick response. I appreciate the explanation and additional context.

Need your input on a policy impacting gadgets and UserJS

MediaWiki message delivery (talkcontribs)

Dear interface administrator,

This is Samuel from the Security team and I hope my message finds you well.

There is an ongoing discussion on a proposed policy governing the use of external resources in gadgets and UserJS. The proposed Third-party resources policy aims at making the UserJS and Gadgets landscape a bit safer by encouraging best practices around external resources. After an initial non-public conversation with a small number of interface admins and staff, we've launched a much larger, public consultation to get a wider pool of feedback for improving the policy proposal. Based on the ideas received so far, the proposed policy now includes some of the risks related to user scripts and gadgets loading third-party resources, best practices for gadgets and UserJS developers, and exemptions requirements such as code transparency and inspectability.

As an interface administrator, your feedback and suggestions are warmly welcome until July 17, 2023 on the policy talk page.

Have a great day!

Hi.

I have seen several statements you have made on French personalities, where you added their native language was French though giving no reference. Being French doesn't mean one's native language is French. Until relatively recently, French was not native language for many people, especially in rural areas, though French has been the only official language for a long time. It was also not uncommon to meet people that didn't speak French at all as late as 1980's, though they understood it (I have known personally several of them). I have removed several of those statements (they all are Occitan writers, so it would not be unlikely Occitan was their actual native language, though it's impossible to state it if there is no reference stating it explicitly).

You should be careful with that kind of stuff, the same is actually true for many people in many countries.

Regards

Hi Mbch331,

I've once watched videos from the YouTube channel of Nayel Shafei (Q115608950), so it must have gotten deleted very recently.

Therefore I've set the rank to "deprecated" but would like to keep it for historical purposes. Will your bot delete it?

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

Yes, because the value is invalid for the property. The property requires the official channel id (UC code). Since this can't be recovered with the channel deleted, it will be deleted as unrepairable.

Thank you for your help with Q7394933!

What's going on with Q27349821?

Summary by ArthurPSmith

Item is in good shape now.

ArthurPSmith (talkcontribs)

Hi - I'm not sure quickstatements is the right tool here - but are you in the middle of updating this? Right now a lot of the author name strings are missing their series ordinal qualifiers. Not sure what's going on here.

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

I couldn't merge Q27349821 and Q110449462 the normal way. So moved some of the data manually, but for the author name strings this was too much work. So I exported the data using WDQS and tried importing them using Quickstatements. Which resulted in a lot of errors. So I assumed they were already imported. But apparently not. I only have the data as a quickstatements v1 file. So it will be hard to import it in a different tool.

ArthurPSmith (talkcontribs)

It might be safe to clear the errors on the QS batch and rerun it? But I've been thinking about adding a feature to the author disambiguator tool to batch-import missing author names so this might be an incentive to get me to implement that also. let me know what you plan.

ArthurPSmith (talkcontribs)

Ok, I added the new feature, and added the missing author names with their ordinal numbers; should be good now!
