Hermitage creators

Also, I see a few cases in the Hermitage Museums where the creator indicated in the description does not match what is shown on the museum's website (see Portrait of Maria Rayevskaya (Q21727793) / [1]). Is there another URL with a different content or is it just that the description provided by the museum has changed ? --Zolo (talk) 09:14, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

@Zolo: the described at URL (P973) is the url I used to retrieve the data. They must have changed it in the meantime! The collection is quite messy so I can imagine that they're still busy on improving things. I'm happy that they put it online anyway instead of waiting until everything is checked. Museo Soumaya

I think they are agree. What I need to do? Thanks, --ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 07:12, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

Replied at User talk:ProtoplasmaKid#Museo Soumaya paintings. Let's keep the conversation in one place. Multichill (talk) 11:36, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

Met "paintings"

Hi, lokking at User:Multichill/MET missing painter, I see many items created created by BotMulitchill that are not paintings, and as far as I can see, are not marked as paintings by the MET. See for instance Lorgnette and chain (Q20200752): Classification: jewelry.

Would it be possible to get a list of "paintings in the MET", that do not have "Classification: paintings" on the MET's website ? --Zolo (talk) 07:25, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

@Zolo: somehow some non-paintings slipped through. I'm not sure how that happened. In the initial import the filter was on "Classification: paintings" so these items shouldn't have been added in the first place. I used the scrapi to get the data. Could do something with the classification there. User:Missvain is working on sorting this out and I'm working on it too every now and than. It's less than 300 items left so I'm probably just going to do it by hand. Multichill (talk) 11:21, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
Yup, I'm working on it this weekend and whenever I have free time. Missvain (talk) 19:19, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
Ok, which ones have been uploaded ? It seems that we have essentially all those from Europe, but not those from Asia like [2] ? --Zolo (talk) 10:34, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
@Zolo: I keep track of progress at pages like Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Location/United States 4. Looks like I haven't uploaded the Asian part (yet). Can be done later. Multichill (talk) 18:14, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Camille Pissarro

May be it will have your interrest, I have added wikidata to nearly all Camille Pissarros paintings, you kan see it on these two list : https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruger:Palnatoke/Autolister/Kultur/V%C3%A6rker_af_Camille_Pissarro and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Magnus_Manske/listeria_test2 --Villy Fink Isaksen (talk) 14:00, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

@Villy Fink Isaksen: you might enjoy this overview. Multichill (talk) 15:30, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Thx, I think it is partly based on wikipedia/commons. --Villy Fink Isaksen (talk) 15:34, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Identifiers

Hi Multichill,

Your recent comment on project chat got copied into the lists at User:Addshore/Identifiers/0 /1 /2 .. it seems to be based on Q21264328. Would you remove comments you think no longer applies?

If you are interested in a more general view of the topic, JakobVoss published a summary of his research at User:Addshore/Identifiers#What_is_an_identifier.2C_anyway.3F.

@Jura1: I'm travelling so I won't be able to have a good look at this until this weekend. I'm actually in Berlin and met up with some of the Wikidata developers and we talked about this. Multichill (talk) 10:31, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
Ok. Have a good trip. I guess no doubt then what airline "KL" would be.

May I remove the apocryphal notes made in your name at /0 /1 /2 ? Not sure why people don't have an opinion of their own.
--- Jura 10:01, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Let's keep them for now. In some cases I'll remove them. I'm not sure what people you're referring too. My guess is that over the next week most easy properties will get converted so we can move the remaining not so easy ones to one page and discuss those one by one. Multichill (talk) 15:28, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Obviously, at some point we are done with the 1:1-strings and will have to sort them out. As there aren't that many, could you just go through them and cross out the ones you aren't certain about? It would speed things up. If you don't feel like looking into them in detail, I can just strike them out with your agreement. I think the comment you made about Mérimée applies to several other identifiers.

Mexico data

Hi! Museo Soumaya are agree in share their data. And I will send to others the same proposal, I hope that can be successful. Regards, --ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 03:47, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

That's really great new ProtoplasmaKid. Any idea when you're going to get it? I would love to add it to Wikidata. Multichill (talk) 15:24, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
