Merge edit

Hallo PieterJanR,
When you merge items, please use the Merge.js gadget. It helps you nominating, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable) and makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.
If you don't have account, you may have to Create Account. With regards,--by ReviTalkCMG at 08:22, 22 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just a note that when you use the merge.js tool, please tick the "request deletion" box so that the empty item gets sent to WD:RfD. Thanks :) happy editing. Delsion23 (talk) 18:19, 3 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merging edit

Sorry about the reverted merge. You merged a page categorized as a disambiguation page into a family name page, which should have been wrong (disambiguation aren't names, even when they only list people sharing the same name, and should never be merged) but the article was titled as a family name and its content was about the family name, the disambiguation page already existed on the tr:WP. So I understand why you merged and I guess this is one the cases where we will have to ask the Wikipedia in question to make a choice and categorize correctly its article. We try on Wikidata not to editorialize the WP and to always respect their decisions but sometimes they are backing us into a corner. So I reverted my reverts and I'll ask tr:WP to straighten its categorization on this article. Have a good day, --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 08:09, 23 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Policy about stereoisomers edit

Please respect the rule about instance/subclass classification for chemicals: stereoisomer mixture is not an instance of chemical compound but an instance. Snipre (talk) 14:32, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Student vs pupil edit

You are changing student (P802) to doctoral student (P185) massively, but are you sure that all of them are really officially educated and it was like supervising? --Infovarius (talk) 14:30, 10 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Franciscus A.A. Janssens (1843-1897) edit

Hallo Pieter-Jan, ik zie dat mijn pagina Franciscus A.A.

Eissink (talk) 12:11, 4 June 2020 (UTC).Reply

Q1272703 and Q2997424 edit

Hi there. I see that you made these edits a few years ago: [1]. Is there any reason why you didn't merge them outright? --JECE (talk) 23:26, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • I didn't merge them Because their taxonname's are different: Leucocarbo georgianus versus Phalacrocorax atriceps georgianus.

Hi PieterJanR. I was trying to merge them, but then noticed you had added a replace by statements. Wikispecies might have gotten the ISSN wrong. Does it apply to the period after they dropped "et de ses filiales" (in 1990?)? --- Jura 09:19, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please, what are you doing? They are the same species. edit

You broke the interwiki link between Chinese Wikipedia and others. Raccoozzy (talk) 00:47, 22 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Within WikiData it is preferable to keep an item with a unique name per taxon name, even if several synonyms are known for the same species. With the statement "Taxon synonym" links can then be made to the various synonym names.

Some cnidarians edit

Hi. I see you made some taxons restorements if they are separate species, not junior synonyms: Moerisia inkermanica and Odessia maeotica. Could you please explain your position? Brunei (talk) 12:06, 7 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi! May I ask you what is the point of this? I understand the need to differentiate between Q2666563 and Q3916623, but this one doesn't seem necessary. Syrio posso aiutare? 16:40, 11 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Bryophyta edit

You have confused moss (Q25347) (Bryophyta sensu stricto) with bryophyte (Q29993) (Bryophyta sensu lato). Both are "Bryophyta", but the first is the mosses, and the second includes liverworts and hornworts as well. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:20, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
