Adding statistics edit

I think it would be interesting to add the following statistics:

  • Verifiability: How many percent of Wikidata statements have at least one reference?
  • Coverage: How many items are being created per day on average?

I'd like to see if the number of constraint violations is rising, and what fraction of expected parameters are present, to give a feel for whether we are actually fixing problems and back-filling, or just finding ever items and external databases to link to. Community edit

I think we need a section of building communities. My experience with Wikidata Projects and property discussion pages is that questions are asked but never answered, so best practice is never clarified. There is surprisingly little rancor here, but that might be just because there aren't enough volunteers to cover all the bases. I wonder how we can get more recruits while retaining consensus. According to Special:Statistics there are currently 24,179 active users (who did an action in the last 30 days ... although a decent part of these will be bots) ... big WikiProjects on the other hand have like 50 participants on average ... of which many often are inactive. So I think it's indeed suboptimal that only such a small percentage of contributors is involved in discussions. I think the problem of property talk pages is that only very few people watch them ... it might make sense to somehow aggregate a list of unanswered property talk discussions with a bot.
I wouldn't worry about consensus finding becoming harder when more people participate ... if too few people participate the consensus isn't that meaningful anyway.
