Hi Rich Farmbrough,

I see you asked some questions on 2022-11-03. Three days later there are no replies, which makes me feel better about my own crickets-experience :) One interesting thing, for me at least, is the fact that the subject lived into his eighties, even though he died more than a hundred years ago.

I (very) often find biographies of dead-people documented via wmf-sites who lived to an advanced age, even centuries ago. I find this puzzling? Thank in advance, Ottawahitech (talk) 14:38, 6 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's fine not to get answers in this case, in a way the idea is to leave breadcrumbs for the next person to look at that page (possibly me again). There have always been some very old people, the increase in average life-span in the 19th and 20th centuries was largely due to less deaths in infancy and childhood. Moreover people who lived a goodly while had more chance to make their mark and cross whatever threshold of notability is relevant to a given project.
