It is useful to add the ‎Oxford English Dictionary object ID (post-July 2023) (P12510) property to items and lexemes. We can find the OED identifier by clicking on the “Cite” link (https://www.oed.com/search/dictionary/) under the title of each subject page.

Authority identifiers

It is very useful to enrich our participation by populating the Wikidata pages with the following authority identifiers: Library of Congress authority ID (P244), Library of Congress Classification (P1149), FAST ID (P2163), GND ID (P227), IdRef ID (P269), Bibliothèque nationale de France ID (P268), National Library of Spain SpMaBN ID (BNE v1.0) (P950), etc.

Encyclopedic identifiers are equally important: Encyclopædia Britannica Online ID (P1417), Encyclopædia Universalis ID (P3219), Encyclopaedia of the Qur'ān ID (P12575), Encyclopaedia Islamica ID (P11926), Encyclopaedia of Islam (first edition) ID (P9878), Encyclopaedia of Islam (second edition) ID (P9862), Encyclopaedia of Islam (third edition) ID (P9879), TDV Encyclopedia of Islam ID (P7314), etc. --Soufiyouns (talk) 16:39, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

Please STOP adding authority identifiers that do not directly relate to an item. An identifier should identify an item and only use once.

You've added the two IDs on three items. None of the edits were correct:

• Islamic view of miracles (Q5265165)
• Miracle of Prophet in Islam (Q20423710)
• Karāma (Q4213995)

But why remove authority links which are very useful for the content and knowledge they provide to readers of Wikidata pages. For example, you deleted all the English and encyclopedic links from the Qurbani page:

GND + language

Hello Soufiyouns, please stop adding language of work or name (P407) to identifiers. Authority files are multilingual and a term like "Šāḏilīya" is definitely not German. Letters like "Š", "ḏ" and "ī" do not exist in the German language. Again, if an exclamation mark (!) appears, there is a problem with your edit. Kolja21 (talk) 14:44, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

Please do not add the YSO-ID identifiers

User:Soufiyouns - You have added YSO ID (P2347) identifiers to several Wikidata conepts that are doubles and actually not correct. YSO is a multilingual general ontology and both the Finnish and Swedish concepts need to match with the Wikidata concept and and also their labels have to be added. There is usually only one mapping per concept with very few exceptions.

We would like to ask you to refrain from adding this identifier, and if possible, please be so kind to remove the doubles you have added recently. The maintenance of YSO-ID mappings is done by professional ontologists in Finland and the backlinks from Wikidata need to match the concepts exactly.

Descriptions

Descriptions should appear as though they were in the middle of a sentence, typically start with a lowercase letter, and written from a neutral point of view. I think that the content of the property proposals will be very beneficial since it allows to consolidate multilingual references as well as national sources such as for my country Algeria.

There is really a lot of work to be done and I hope that we will be up to this great challenge of improving Wikimedia projects.

It makes you more efficient at adding identifiers to items. This is helpful as country items are slow to load due to their size

Just click "New batch" and copypaste the text from the link to the website. Then remove the countries that are not listed on the website and run the batch Trade (talk) 07:18, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

Je me permets de laisser un message ici plutôt que de polluer la page de proposition de propriété. Est-ce que l'index utilise un identifiant différent ?

De ce que je vois c'est toujours exactement le même. Par exemple pour Jesus (Q302) l'identifiant est "jesus-jesus-christ" dans les deux cas, pour l'article Universalis et pour l'index Universalis.

Ce n'est pas la même chose pour les propriétés du British Museum que tu donnes en exemple, sur Connecticut (Q779) où British Museum person or institution ID (P1711) a pour valeur "162127" tandis que British Museum place ID (P3633) a pour valeur "x40712".

Sauf que Jésus n'est pas un cas spécifique, de ce que j'ai vu c'est toujours le cas (j'ai vérifié un échantillon d'une centaine des 34214 valeurs que l'on a déjà et c'est toujours la même chose : https://w.wiki/DABD ; la seule exception que j'ai vu est un cas comme https://www.universalis.fr/index/brazil qui redirige vers https://www.universalis.fr/encyclopedie/brazil/ rendant la propriété encore moins utile). Quant aux wikipédiens, puisque l'identifiant est le même, on peut facilement générer le lien vers l'index sans propriété dédiée (comme je l'ai fait dans la requête SPARQL précédente).
