Hello Szastrocky.2023! I'm responding here to your message on the project chat. This project is Wikidata, not Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia by humans, for humans. It has a lot of text and pictures that describe various topics. Wikidata is significantly different. While it covers many of the same topics as Wikipedia, it stores machine-readable data about them. The Wikipedia page about Douglas Adams says "Adams was born in Cambridge"; the Wikidata item about him has Douglas Adams (Q42)place of birth (P19)Cambridge (Q350) in a standardized format. What we do here is collect this data, and the references that support it, into a public repository.

If you are in fact looking for Wikipedia, you can check out their introduction to editing (you can use the same account); if you are in the right place, check out our introduction to editing. Below I've put the standard welcome for new users. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me or ask on the project chat.
