Welcome to Wikidata, Turaids!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

About Beckmann (Q813731) and Bekmanis (Q21171189), in Wikidata we don't mix Disambiguation with other kind of item, the page on lv wiki is a disambiguation item and you can find it in lv:Special:DisambiguationPages, the other pages are on the surname, they aren't disambiguation infact you can't find them in Special:DisambiguationPages. If there is a problem in lvwiki you must fix it on the wiki, don't mix different item in Wikidata. --ValterVB (talk) 06:32, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

@ValterVB:, in lvwiki all surname pages are marked as disambiguation pages and always have been. They have the same links to the same articles as their interwiki counterparts. That's why I'm merging them. And I see your reverts based on some strange rule as nothing more than a waste of time (both mine and yours). --Turaids (talk) 18:01, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

@ValterVB:, here you can read up on why even in Latin script the names in Latvian are written differently than the original language and revert all the reverts you've made. I played your game before and made a special surname template to conform to the counterproductive rule, but this doesn't make any sense whatsoever.. –Turaids (talk) 21:34, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

No sitelink in Novitsky (Q2003639) are all disambiguation. You can find all them in Special:DisambiguationPages in each wiki --ValterVB (talk) 17:18, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Both (one and two) have the very same surname template, yet one supposedly is a disambig page, but the other isn't, so go figure. Can't promise anything if I can't even tell them apart without doing a manual check of every single page. –Turaids (talk) 17:26, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

For lv.wikipedia you can propose to modify the template: in case of a page about surname don't include the magic word __DISAMBIG__ is the correct solution. To simplify the check in Wikidata side you can add this row in your Special:MyPage/common.js: mw.loader.load( '//www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=User:Matěj_Suchánek/checkSitelinks.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript' ); It is a script that higlight all the disambiguation page (ad redirect) in the list of sitelink. --ValterVB (talk) 17:40, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
