Bot request

I don't know if you have any time at the moment. But if you do, could you look at this one: Wikidata:Bot_requests#Request_for_EN_Anatomy_bot_to_grab_infobox_data and this one Wikidata:Bot_requests#Request_for_bot_to_grab_navbox_data_from_600_EN_WP_templates. Polish description for Wikipedia templates

Ciao, lo sbaglio nasce dall'elenco dell'aggiunta automatica: categorie e disambigue sono una sotto l'altra, e per quanto cerchi sempre di stare attenta, ogni tanto seleziono la riga sbagliata :-( Se me ne accorgo subito, ovviamente annullo, ma qualcosa sfugge. Thank you. I Think it is ok to have an update every 3 months, it´s not necessary to have an updates once a month. Dove andare per inserire analisi crono

E' già la seconda volta che mi capita di aprire la cronologia di una voce su wikidata sperando di trovarci come su altre interfacci un link all'analisi della crono ma non la trovo.

Secondo te volessi suggerire di inserirla dove potrei andare? Capisco che il principale contributore di una pagina sia deducibile dalla cronologia a occhio, ma sono pur sempre un analitico e mi lascia perplesso che non sia proposta quest'opzione. Intendiamoci io so come trovare quest'analisi se mi serve, ma penso che dovrebbe essere accessibile a tutti con un clic. Con le visite non mi è capitato mi servissero ma non puoi mai sapere... insomma non siamo una wiki "contenutistica" ma le usano su meta non vedo perché non anche qui.--Alexmar983 (talk) 21:26, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Wikimedia category

I notice ValterVBot going around changing descriptions of Wikipedia category items to "Wikimedia category page". Which is inaccurate since those items do not correspond to categories on all projects. It seems to me that the old description ("Wikipedia category") is more honest about being Wikipedia-centered, while the new description ("Wikimedia category page") kind of makes it seem as if other projects don't even exist (as if Wikimedia = Wikipedia). Maybe there is a description that is better than either one, but I'm not sure what that would be.

Here's a specific example. Item Category:Nepal (Q7085149) corresponds to Wikipedia Category:Nepal. It also corresponds to Category:Nepal in Wikiquote, Wikisource, and Wikivoyage. But Wikinews Category:Nepal corresponds to Nepal (Q837), whose description is "Country in Asia" and corresponds to Wikipedia article Nepal. Nothing on Wikinews corresponds to Category:Nepal (Q7085149).

The primary name of Category:Nepal (Q7085149) is "Category:Nepal". It seems to me that was chosen because the item corresponds to Wikipedia Category:Nepal, and the other sisters organize themselves around that. So, as I said, at least the description "Wikipedia category" is honest about being Wikipedia-centered. Of the two choices (old and new), I would favor the old name ("Wikipedia category"). --Pi zero (talk) 20:06, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

@Pi zero: Now I understand better what you mean. For Wikimedia instead Wikipedia I used autoedit gadget descriptions, I have also checked more used descriptions:

and checked description of Wikimedia category (Q4167836). At the beginning, descriptions was Wikipedia... but when were added other projects, it was decided to change in Wikimedia, (commons, wikivoyage, wikisource are all Wikimedia project). Perhaps someone else can think of an alternative that we haven't thought of. For what it's worth, I think "Wikimedia category" (without the -page) is the best description, but I actually came here to tell you that your bot is still adding the outdated language prefix "no" for Norwegian in descriptions (Wikimedia-kategori), when it should be adding the language prefix "nb" for Bokmål (Q25167). You should replace the "no" with "nb" for "Wikimedia-kategori". "no" is redundant, but I can't find the documentation right at the moment. Other bots do a similar job, but yours is still adding the deprecated language code. Please note that you wrote "bn" which is a typo! Jared Preston (talk) 14:47, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Also, if you look at Category:2012 French Open (Q5371913) for example, you will see that your bot added the no-description on 20 February, only for it to be removed yesterday by another bot. sv-labels for minor planets

I see your bot adds labels to items. (It sometimes fully cover my watchlist.) Would it be a hard work for it to copy the English label to the Swedish (sv) in all instance of (P31): asteroid (Q3863) or minor planet (Q1022867)? I have never seen a Swedish astronomer who have used any other names than those IAU have given them (which always are identical to the English) with the exception of the Dwarfplanets, and they already have labels. This also includes minor planets without names, but with "provisional designations" like "(123456) 1999 AB123" or "1999 AB124". -- Innocent bystander (talk) 12:02, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi :) This isn't entirely related to Wikidata, but I noticed that you added Q19692498 just now and had a look at the Wikipedia page for it. I don't really understand Italian but the page seems to be saying that it's a list of people whose forename is Zhang, but as far as I can tell, it's a list of people whose surname is Zhang (Chinese names have the surname first). Sotto Capodanno cambio sezione :) Volevo chiederti se c'è un qualunque strumento, attivabile in preferenze o in altro modo, che permetta di avere dei tastini che velocizzino l'inserimento di P31:Q5 e del sesso della persona, dato che mi capita spesso di doverli inserire a mano per decine di volte. Se lavori con delle liste di item puoi usare Autolist2. Incolli nella finestrella sotto a Manual item list l'elenco degli item, poi clicchi su Run, infine nella finestrella che appare sulla destra (quella con la scritta Controls in grande) inserisci P31:Q5 e clicchi Process commands dopodichè fa tutto da solo. Non sembra che ci sia una proprietà utilizzabile. Comunque credo che non sia corretto metterlo in quell'item. Bisognerebbe creare un Item al plurale (efeti) e mettere has part(s) (P527): Q3720142 e poi aggiungere un qualificatore (quantità generica) = 51. Problema: molte categorie di stub di it.wiki riguardanti degli Stati (es. it:Categoria:Stub - El Salvador) sono collegate alle categorie delle altre Wikipedie che parlano non di quello stato genericamente ma della sua geografia (en:Category:El Salvador geography stubs) invece che alla categoria corretta (en:Category:El Salvador stubs). Benissimo; per quando avrai risolto gli stub di it.wiki, ti segnalo un problema con alcuni anni un tantino futuri: il XXII secolo. Da un lato gli elementi di ko.wiki (vedi ko:분류:22세기의 해), da un lato le voci di eo.wiki (vedi eo:Kategorio:22-a jarcento), in gran parte non ancora connesse a Wikidata; per completezza, ovviamente, ti parlo anche del XXII secolo a.C., nel quale sarebbe da ricomporre la frattura tra hi.wiki (parti da hi:२१०० ईसा पूर्व) e war.wiki (parti da war:2100 UC). Non escludo che ci siano problemi anche coi secoli precedenti o successivi: indaga! So che per il tuo bot si tratta solo di un antipastino! Grazie, --Epìdosis 20:58, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Abuso del tuo bot: dando un'occhiata ad eo:Special:UnconnectedPages ho notato circa 1600 asteroidi non connessi a Wikidata; da un breve carotaggio ho notato che alcuni avrebbero già il loro elemento bell'e pronto (es. Q4540918 per eo:(11300) 1992 WG2), mentre altri sarebbero da aggiungere ex novo (es. eo:(11110) 1995 VT1). Saresti capace di portare su Wikidata questi asteroidi sistemando automaticamente nei loro elementi quelli che li hanno già pronti e creando nuovi elementi per gli altri? @Epìdosis: Purtroppo sta diventando sempre più difficile automatizzare il collegamento a Wikidata, stanno rimanendo i casi difficili. Ho provato a dare un'occhiata a quelli che hanno ancora un interlink, ma anche in questo caso non ci si può fidare molto. Quindi rimangono solo 2 possibilità: o sI chiuder gli occhi e si crea direttamente un'item nuovo, oppure ci si arma di pazienza e si controlla manualmente. @Epìdosis: Molte volte ho notato che non si aggiorna fino a quando non si fa un edit nullo. Su qualche wiki ho fatto un passaggio con il bot, ma su molte (sopratutto quelle più piccole) l'azione viene limitata, non si può fare più di 1 edit al minute o anche più.
