Wikidata modules edit

Hi, I have just seen that you had copied French Wikidata modules to fiwiki and translated a good part of the doc. I am the author of much of it, so please let me know if there are things that you find hard to understand (or just weird). Those modules are somewhat messy and the doc still inadequate. -Zolo (talk) 12:29, 12 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Zolo: Hi, thanks for the comment and sorry for replying late. Anyway, I think that frwiki's Wikidata modules are pretty easy to follow and dropped with small changes to fiwiki. Currently we have cloned modules from fiwiki (using script) to fi.wikivoyage.org and fi.wikibooks.org too, but this required more changes. Biggest problems have been with the localisation and how to keep fiwiki's copy in sync with frwiki's code. Third thing is that I should upstream fixes to frwiki too. The feeling with the system is definitely positive and I guess that the biggest reason that prevents more wikis from using it is just the number of the modules which are required.
Btw, do you think that it would be good idea to clone the fr.wikipedia.org's wikidata lib to wikidata.org too? That would mean that it would need to support other languages too and sister projects but I think it should be doable. --Zache (talk) 06:25, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks for the feedback. In the meantime, I have tried to streamline the modules. Module:Wikidata/Outils, Module:Wikidata/Récup, Module:Wikidata/Formatage Entité, Module:Wikidata/Analyse transitive and Module:Utilitaire Wikidata have been merged back into Module:Wikidata. I have also tried harder to keep localisation in a single place (Module:Wikidata/I18n) but that leaves out texts that are also used for non-Wikidata content (dates for example)
Module:Wikidata here on Wikidata, is more or less based on an old version of the French module. To some extent, that's true also for the module on Commons (with better integration internationalized dates by user:Jarekt). Yes, I think it would be a good idea to try to have a good and up to date version of the module on one of these two sites. Both because it can be useful by itself, and because having a decent multilingual module somewhere can only be good for the portability of the code. But that's time-consuming. --Zolo (talk) 09:21, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

P3602/P1545 → P4243? edit

Hi! Back in 2017 you added a lot of great information on Finnish municipal election candidates. Most of these (e.g. Q2360756#P3602 appear to use series ordinal (P1545) in a manner that makes me think it could probably now be migrated to use candidate number (P4243) instead (which didn't exist when you created these). Am I understanding this correctly, or did you mean something slightly different by series ordinal (P1545) with these? Thanks, --Oravrattas (talk) 09:51, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, series ordinal (P1545) is candidate number inside the electoral district (P768). There is candidate lists here for 2017 and 2012 municipal elections where you can see the Eero Heinäluoma (Q2360756) candidate number 391. --Zache (talk) 10:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
