Please protect Paul Walker Q213864 (vandalism). --Bff (talk) 21:39, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Warned (lvl 4), since it was just one IP that made nonsensical death date changes four times. I'll try to keep an eye on the item. It's sad that items whose subjects are people who suffered a horrible death are vandalized. --AmaryllisGardener talk 02:07, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Eh, now I see that it gets IP vandalism about twice a month from different addresses (seems odd), so I decided on second thought to semi-protect it for a year. --AmaryllisGardener talk 02:18, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Q13799 vandalized

Indeed. The page is protected again for a longer time and that user is blocked. --Stryn (talk) 16:46, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Merging Help

Help:Class or instance created by User:IP- should be merged into Help:Classification. --Succu (talk) 21:12, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

No, it should not. IP- (talk) 21:13, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Any reason why your „Help” fits not into Help:Classification#Classes and instances? --Succu (talk) 21:17, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
It only discusses the question "class or instance?" and is not about classes and instances in general. IP- (talk) 21:19, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
I agree that it should be merged. Help pages should be in a unified location and go into as much depth as possible to help inform and educate readers/new editors. Diverging similar information to multiple pages is not helpful. The page should be adapted to the classification page rather than a class/instance page which lacks depth. John F. Lewis (talk) 21:24, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Best fit then is Help:Basic membership properties, which also discusses the decision making. The approaches that I listed, go into more detail than the table on that page. It improve the decision making process that people are confronted with, when using the table above. The mere existence of discussions shows, that that help page alone was not sufficient. IP- (talk) 21:32, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Could you improve existing pages rather than creating new pages when other ones suit the topic if possible? John F. Lewis (talk) 21:34, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Of course! IP- (talk) 21:47, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
I never got the idea of Basic membership properties. But I think this topic fits perfectly into the scope of Help:Classification, a crucial one. --Succu (talk) 21:45, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Good article status on English Wikipedia, trying to add the badge to Wikidata

Hi! The article en:Maria Radner was recently added as a Good article. I tried to edit the links on Wikidata and add the English link as a Good article, but it says: "You are trying to add/remove badges to this item. At local Wikipedias adding or removing badges are done by consensus. Saving this edit was blocked and should be done only by administrators or trusted users. If you think you are correct, please contact an administrator." Could an administrator please add the Good article badge to the English Wikipedia article for Maria Radner? Thanks! CookieMonster755 (talk) 01:22, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Done --AmaryllisGardener talk 01:53, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

User IP- acting without consensus

Although repeatedly asked to stop and being pointed out that the edits are problematic, the user still continues to change Wikidata towards his understanding of P31, which seems to be contradictory to the understanding of the community at large. Since the user is creating damage which will be increasingly hard to fix, I would like to ask administrator to keep an eye on his actions. I have also put a request to cease this actions on the user's talk page.

Furthermore, the user has in quickly come into conflict with a number of established editors, and has shown dismissive and unfriendly behavior in interactions. I find interactions with the user disruptive and discouraging. --Denny (talk) 22:00, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

And this „personal affair”. --Succu (talk) 22:16, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
The user seems to like disrupting things. I've posted a message to his/her tp because of an IMO inappropriate username (because it resembles an IP address) and so I'll keep an eye on that for a possible reply. I have a bad feeling about this. --AmaryllisGardener talk 23:54, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Blocked IP-, this person has plenty of usernames and a history of being abusive. Multichill (talk) 09:51, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

FYI I've created Special:AbuseFilter/66 to prevent creation of accounts which look like ip addresses in future. -- Bene* talk 11:48, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

See also the pages Wikidata:Item classification and Help:Item Classification, who have a history with Tamawashi (talkcontribslogs). I created Help:Classification and I'm trying to discuss it with community, he's trying to mimic this in his own way and kind of creating similar pages. TomT0m (talk) 12:12, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

undeletion request

Could Property talk:P743 be left available? I believe the discussion that took place (if there was any!) about changing the item to be "monolingual" might be useful as a reference. (Also, i'm very interested to read it myself.) And if i may make a request for all future non-trivial deletions: instead of just stating "per RfD" could you please also link to (a permalink or archive of) the RfD you mention? Thanks. -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 17:56, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Not done You are propably searching for Wikidata:Properties for deletion#Datatype change: invalid ID (P743). Matěj Suchánek (talk) 17:58, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Actually, could p:P743 be undeleted and changed into a redirect instead? It was deprecated in favour of p:P1813, but that doesn't make it (or its history) harmful. -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 18:00, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Generally, we don't redirect properties, or keep obsoleted properties after a deletion discussion has been closed. You can receive a copy of the property in XML form (if the Export feature permits]]), via email if you wish. --George (Talk · Contribs · CentralAuth · Log) 18:19, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Would that include just the latest revision of the property page? Because that would not be comprehensive enough: i'm asking for (the restoration of) the history of both the property page and the talk page... But i'll postpone this request until the RfC i've opened (   Discussion ongoing... ) would have gathered some input. -- Jokes Free4Me (talk) 18:28, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Project:Reference desk (Q3907025)

Should we fully protect this like Project:Village pump (Q16503), as huwiki is archiving weekly by moving that page. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 05:14, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Do you think that someone can go to huwiki and see if a better archiving method can be used instead? --AmaryllisGardener talk 12:41, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

As I can see archiving is done daily rather than weekly. Does it create any problems apart from increasing the edit history? User:Vitorla is a trusted editor on huwiki, his edits are reliable. Of course, I can discuss alternative archiving methods with him if necessary. --Csigabi (talk) 10:03, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

So let's ask @Vitorla: and @Tgr:. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 00:09, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Why me? :-) Anyway, we'll look into alternatives. Can you explain how exactly this is problematic? Do you want to avoid the interwiki change, the history spam, something else? --Tgr (talk) 07:27, 28 March 2015 (UTC)

Discussion in huwiki: hu:Wikipédia:Wikidata-segítségkérés#Átnevezés és a Wikidata 22:04, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

User:Karmela has created a soft redirect to the page, so from now on archiving will not create an issue. --Csigabi (talk) 09:17, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Unlucky, Hoo bot has turned back to such wheels, because has restored to a normal redirect by User:Tacsipacsi. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:50, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
And now I've changed that link to hu:Wikipédia:Tudakozó/Fejrész. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 05:15, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

semi-protect Eduardo Galeano

Eduardo Galeano (Q44575), recently deceased, has for some reason been a popular target for vandalism since his death (at least it feels quite above-average). —DSGalaktos (talk) 20:03, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Those actions are all automatic, and AFAIK would not be stopped by a local block. He needs to be dealt with at the project where he is vandalizing. Ajraddatz (talk) 05:10, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
The user vandalized only on shwiki, and it's already blocked there. --Stryn (talk) 05:26, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Property proposal closures

I've been keeping on top of the property proposal queue, but I can't close the following as I have already !voted and am not impartial:

Please would someone familiar with the system do what's necessary? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:05, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

All proposals open for > 2 months (or 1 month) could probably be closed. Would someone create the corresponding properties or mark them as "not done"? --- Jura 11:13, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
