Requesting flood flag

Sorry I didn't request this earlier; I'm using Widar to create several thousand new items Jc86035 (talk) 08:50, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

@Jc86035: For how long will you need this flag? In case it is a permanent thing, it might be advisable to create an alternative account and request a bot flag for it at WD:RFP/BOT. Otherwise, if you indeed need this just temporarily I will of course assign you this flag and ask you to remove it again yourself after you're done. Regards, Vogone (talk) 09:18, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
@Vogone: Temporary, thanks. I think tools.wmflabs.org is actually down right now so it can wait for a bit. Jc86035 (talk) 09:24, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Okay, just ping me when you think you need it again :-) Vogone (talk) 09:27, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
@Vogone: It seems to be working now. Problem: I had too many tabs open, unsurprisingly :/ Jc86035 (talk) 10:51, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
@Vogone: Can you add the flag now, please? Thanks, Jc86035 (talk) 10:52, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
Done Sorry for the late reply. Please remove the flag again through Special:UserRights/Jc86035 after you are done. Regards, Vogone (talk) 11:53, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Administrator right restoration

Hi. I resigned from all of my rights on Wikimedia projects while ago (1) but now like to have the sysop right back on Wikidata if is possible, probably to maintain my tools and also help on administration tasks. Thank you –ebraminiotalk 12:06, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Done, welcome back! Vogone (talk) 12:17, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

FakirNL

Can somebody close this and do the necessary stuff? Thanks in advance, Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 12:07, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

@Sjoerddebruin: Please note there isn't any rule which requires bureaucrats to close RfAs. Any user could do. I added the flag but don't have any time to do the required "paperwork" at the moment so if anyone else is willing to volunteer for that I'd be thankful. Regards, Vogone (talk) 14:05, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Ah, didn't know that. It would be great if someone would do the paperwork, I'm not familiar with it. Thanks anyway for adding the flag. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 14:10, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Yes, thanks for adding the flag! - FakirNL (talk) 18:11, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Flag is now removed. You maybe also want to remove me from the markAdmins-Gadget?! -- Innocent bystander (talk) 16:29, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for your service. --Stryn (talk) 16:50, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Bot flag requests probably need to be commented at by bureaucrats

Bureaucrats please comment at:

Maybe some requests can be approved.--GZWDer (talk) 05:09, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Flood flag request for Widar

Flood flag request for the use of Widar (more specifically, the Wikidata game). Thanks. —Wylve (talk) 17:42, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

If you are going to use it permanently, please create an alternative account and apply for the bot flag, we will quickly approve it. If you need it for finite period of time, I can flag you, no problem.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:06, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
I don't think we should give a flood flag or even a bot flag for the wikidata game because this are no automated edits and thus should not be hidden from watchlists and recent changes. Too many mistakes were already made via the game and the flood flag should only be applied for automated tasks which work after an algorithm. --Bene* talk 04:27, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
We have done it in the past for the bot flag, but I am not aware indeed of any flood flags. If there is consensus we can stop giving them out for Widar.--Ymblanter (talk) 05:57, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

<sigh> Widar is about authentication. When people ask for the flood flag for the Wikidata game, they do not understand that they are not flooding it. The edits do not follow each other and consequently they are not seen as flooding. Giving the flood flag for this purpose serves no purpose.

When people use AutoList2, the edits ARE in sequence and when they are treated as a bot or given a "flood flag" they will be processed at a much quicker rate. Thanks, GerardM (talk) 09:45, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

I must totally agree to GerardM at this point. The Game is no flooding and the edits require separate decisions. AutoList in turn makes the same edit to many items and thus works much faster. Accordingly, there is a flood flag and some review needed before those automatic tools are used. May we write this down in a policy/help page if everyone agrees? -- Bene* talk 12:46, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Just a heads up

Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Administrator/Jianhui67 can be closed and flagged. I won't close it since I started it. Thanks in advance. --Stryn (talk) 05:04, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Done. Vogone (talk) 05:31, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
