دربارهٔ ویکی‌داده

ویکی‌داده یک پایگاه داده چند زبانه و آزاد است که هم توسط ماشین و هم توسط انسان قابلیت خواندن دارد. این پروژه داده‌هایی را به همه زبان‌های پروژه‌های ویکی‌مدیا آماده می‌کند و به طریقی مشابه ویکی‌انبار که اجازه دسترسی به پرونده‌ها را می‌دهد، اجازه دسترسی به داده‌ها را فراهم می‌کند و همچنین از سوی سایر وب‌گاه‌ها نیز استفاده می‌شود. داده‌های ویکی‌داده توسط جامعه داوطلب افزوده می‌شوند که ممکن است به صورت دستی یا به کمک نرم‌افزار باشد همچون سایر پروژه‌های ویکی‌مدیا از جمله ویکی‌پدیا. ویکی‌داده دارای میلیون‌ها داده است که هر کدام نشان‌دهنده یک شخص، مکان، اثر هنری، مفهوم انتزاعی، یا هر نوع جوهره دیگری است.هر آیتم دارای اظهارنظرهایی است (به صورت جفت‌های کلید-مقدار) و هر اظهار نظر دارای یک خصوصیت است مثل «زادروز» و یک مقدار برای آیتم. همچنین هر آیتم می‌تواند دارای شناسه‌های بیرونی باشد مثل شناسۀ بم‌بم. ویکی‌داده توسط بنیاد ویکی‌مدیا، یک سازمان خیریهٔ ناسودبر میزبانی می‌شود که به تشویق رشد، توسعه و توزیع محتوای آموزشی رایگان، چندزبانه و ارائهٔ محتوای کامل این پروژه‌های مبتنی بر ویکی با در اختیار گذاشتن آن به‌صورت رایگان به عموم، اختصاص دارد. |
چه داده‌هایی را میزبانی می‌کنیم؟

ویکی‌داده بر روی اطلاعات مفید سطح پایه درباره جهان متمرکز شده است و به سایر منابع تخصصی پیوند می‌دهد. منابع مورد استفاده برای داده‌ها در ویکی‌داده باید خصوصیات زیر را دارا باشند:

An overview of open data and data licensing is available at Wikidata:Open data publishing. All data on Wikidata is released under Creative Commons CC0 (public domain). However individual facts and identifiers, such as numbers and IDs are not copyrightable. If you are an institution based in Europe, the whole of your ID list may be under database copyright, but we would not be copying the entire list in bulk; rather, volunteers add most of them individually, one at a time. For more information please see the Wikimedia Foundation’s guidance on database rights. Every database is different. To define whether your organisation would need to make a license change on your data or if the section of data you would like to make available does not fall under copyright please contact the Wikidata community. |

The process of adding Wikidata can be technically challenging but the Wikidata community is very happy to discuss with you the best approach and offer assistance where needed. The basic process is:
- Contact the Wikidata community describing what data you have and would like to include in Wikidata.
- Decide with the Wikidata community what data is suitable to import.
- Work with the Wikidata community to import the data.
- Keep the data up to date or share the resources needed for others to do so.
