This page was created for the Tyap Wikimedians Meetup to celebrate Wikidata's 11th Birthday slated for 2 - 3 December 2023. This meetup is proposed to be held in Kaduna, Nigeria. It is organized by the Tyap Wikimedians User Group to gather together its editors and aspiring editors to meet one another and use the opportunity to celebrate a belated 11th birthday in honor of Wikidata, Wikimedia Foundation's largest project by the number of items.

    • Wikidata edit-a-thon: Saturday, 2 December 2023.
    • Prize giving, cake-cutting, and meetup: Sunday, 3 December 2023.
  • Venue: In-person @ No. 3A ILMIHOUSE, Lapai Road, Off Kinshasa Road, Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria; and Online.

Activities edit

  • Create social media awareness.
  • Teach participants how to access and/or create a Wikipedia account.
  • Introduction to editing on the Tyap Wikipedia and Wikidata.
  • Edit-a-thon proper — Wikidata and Tyap Wikipedia.
  • Celebration of Wikidata 11th Birthday.
  • Cutting of Wikidata 11th Birthday Cake.
  • Giving of awards to highest editors: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th (Male and female categories).
  • Photoshoots.
  • Event closure.

How to participate edit

  Log in or Create a New Account.
  Enroll on the Outreach Dashboard to track your contributions.
  Add your name to the participants section on this page.
  Attend the event onsite/offline (i.e., in-person) or participate online on Saturday, 2, and Sunday, 3 December 2023.

If you choose to edit using option 2, on visiting the article list as directed above, click on any of the titles in blue colour and you might either be redirected to a Wikidata page of the item or the page in the Tyap Wikipedia. You're free to either edit the Wikidata item or the Wikipedia article or create a non-existing one (i.e., those in red colour). For articles already created, you can add "Databox" to them if they have none yet.

Participants edit

All who have ever contributed to the Tyap Wikimedia projects including the Tyap Wikipedia, Tyap Wiktionary, and Tyap language-related Wikimedia events are welcome. Aspiring Wikimedians are also free to join both online and offline. You can also use this opportunity to become a Wikimedian. Please join us!
