Wiki café edit

Next planned session:
3rd of March, 2022 (from 17:00 till 19:30)
A general writing session about industrial heritage and textile heritage in Ghent. Afterwards, there is a seminar by Peter Scholliers about the history of bakery.

General wiki writing sessions edit

Every first Thursday of the month, the museums in Ghent organise a late night event.

In the Industry museum, you can participate in a wiki writing session on those occasions. Volunteers write about many different aspects of our collection: textile industry, printing industry, industrial revolutions, industrial heritage, industrial history, ... under the supervision of more experienced Wikipedians.

If you are interested in writing with us, you can always contact us through the library.

Writing about specific topics edit

Wiki Café over Kathedralen van de industrie

On some occasions, we organise writing sessions about a specific subject, often related to temporary expositions in the museum.

Kathedralen van de industrie edit

The writing session about this subject was organised on 2 september 2021. The subject was the "cathedrals" of the industrial revolution in Ghent, as pictured in the temporary expo of Alexander Dumarey. The subject was also captured in a book, released by Borgerhoff & Lamberigts. More info can be found on the event-page and the Wikiproject ID.

Collection on Wikimedia edit

We continue to releasing our collection through Wikimedia if the rights on the objects, documents and photographs allow it... Our collection can be found via the category on Wikimedia Commons: Industriemuseum Gent.

Amending Wikidata edit

When we release our collection to Wikimedia, we try to link as much as possible with existing Wikidata-subjects. If there are none available, we try to add them to Wikidata as much as possible.
