Properties
editSome suggestions
editIn case of doubt:
- Don't panic
- Look for other examples, maybe the same lexeme exists also in English?
- Google your doubt!
- Have no fear to ask someone!
- Leave it as it is (remember that fixing is expensive)
- Creating lexemes
- Please, don't create a lexeme for every word! pizze (L3055-F2) is a form of the main lexeme pizza (L3055)
- Check before creating a lexeme, that's the best way to avoid duplicates
- Please, don't create a lexeme for every combination of words... it wouldn't be useful. Some exceptions could be proverb (Q35102) or nominal locution (Q29888377).
- Case
- Nouns, verbs, adverbs... we always prefer the lowercase standard: gatto (L5577)
- Proper nouns are written with uppercase: Città del Vaticano (L22781)
- Verbs are tough
- There are many many exceptions, don't underestimate them.
- Don't add the tenses formed by the auxiliary like past anterior (Q1101896), they're not useful.
- And moreover...
- In the lexeme forms, be careful of grammatical features! The suggestions are misleading. Do not use men's singles (Q16893072), use masculine singular (Q47088290)
- Whenever it's possible, add grammatical gender (P5185). Be careful because in Italian we have exceptions like dito (L580890-F1) - dita (L580890-F3).
Of course, if you don't agree with something written here, let's discuss it!
Work to do
edit- Add senses to nouns/verbs
- Add derived from lexeme (P5191), it's interesting and useful. Remember to support it via references.
- Add combines lexemes (P5238). It can be used for proverb (Q35102) or nominal locution (Q29888377), but also for many other lexemes, like supermercato (L684235).
