(Legg inn motivering/begrunnelse for forslaget til denne egenskapen her.) Pmt (talk) 17:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC) An officila database giving an identifier for Norwegian taxones.

The ID referred to in the proposal is the "ScientificNameID" ("LatinskNavnID"). The database also contains a "TaksonID".

The URL format when using the ScientificNameID can be simplified to$1 (w/o substitution to the scientific name, e.g., while the URL format if using the TaksonID is$1. - 4ing (talk) 20:20, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

I have established contact with an employee in Artsdatabanken and asked for input to whether we should use the Taxon ID or the Scienticic Name ID. - 4ing (talk) 06:06, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
  •   Support I support the creation of "LatinNameID" as the «Artsdatabanken-ID», preferably as it is done in Nederlands Soortenregister ID (P3405). I am the aforementioned contact with the Species Data Bank, which is responsible for establishing Norwegian names for species in Norway. As it is referred to in my user discussion Stein Arild Hoem, chief programmer at Artsdatabanken, also maintains that TaxonIDs change over time - but you will always get there via the name - so the most constant url is using what in the column printout from the Species Databank is 'FK_GyldigLatinskNavnID' . This is the one I use when I post taxon common name (P1843) or references in Wikipedia to species names, distribution, synonyms and more. -- Magnefl (talk) 10:10, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
Does that imply that "subject item" should be changed from taxon (Q16521) to scientific name (Q10753560), and that the description should be "Identificator for a scientific name in the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre database"? - 4ing (talk) 13:06, 30 September 2020 (UTC)
No. We should use the URL format$1 where $1 is subtituted with the number from FK_GyldigLatinskNavnID. This will forward to the Taxon page, as in -- Magnefl (talk) 13:28, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Support I have made some small changes to the proposal, and I will ping WP Taxonomy for more feedback. - Premeditated (talk) 19:46, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
  • The current proposed English name of the property is "Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre taxon Identificator" and not Artsdatabanken. To the extend that it's supposed to be named something like "Artsdatabanken ID" or "Artsdatabanken taxon ID" it's name is currently unclear. The description currently doesn't say anything about what's included in that database and it might be worth having a short sentence. ChristianKl❫ 15:20, 7 October 2020 (UTC)
More information can be found at -- Magnefl (talk) 19:14, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

The norwegian name is Artsdatabanken, on their homepage the english version says The Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre I will and can not introduce a new description in english, but may be the norwegian name can be used? @ChristianKl: the description says Identificator for a taxon in the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre database As per Caudovirales (Q6521) ta taxon is group of one or more organism(s), which a taxonomist adjudges to be a unit. Kindly inform if you need further description and what is unclear. I will also feel liberate to point at Nederlands Soortenregister ID (P3405) and the proposal Pmt (talk) 21:15, 7 October 2020 (UTC)

  • I'm not certain whether this database is commonly known in English under Artsdatabanken or a different name. If there's an English name an abbreviation like NBIC taxon ID would likely work better as the other name is too long.
As far as descriptions go Artsdatabanken the website says under "The goal of NBIC is to serve as a national source of information on species and ecosystems in Norway, and to make up-to-date information on biodiversity widely available and easily accessible to the society."
How about as description "Identificator for a taxon in the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre database, a database on species and ecosystems in Norway" ? ChristianKl❫ 12:03, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
@ChristianKl: Your description looks very good to me. And the abbreviation «NBIC_taxon_ID» is probably the best choice because the name «Artsdatabanken» is not commenly known in English. -- Magnefl (talk) 07:14, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
Okay, I now set it to ready. ChristianKl❫ 10:58, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
