Motivation edit

On June 8, 2022 GitHub announced that it will be sun setting the Atom text editor. Because of this I would like to do what I can to preserve the ecosystem of community-made packages that have emerged around Atom over the years. This property would allow us to preserve the names that these packages had in the Atom Package Manager registry and best preserve these packages and themes.
