Motivation

EMLO is an active, growing, open-access database of thousands of letters between European intellectuals. We already have the EMLO person IDs (see previous discussion in which Magnus called for this proposal). EMLO uses locations to organise letters by where they were written, where addressed to, and the places that letters mention. See for example Berlin. Working at the University of Oxford, I am now bulk-importing some EMLO data and it would be helpful to have this property. EMLO already make links to Wikipedia and this property could help the links be two-way.

Caveat: almost all of the automatic matches in Mix'n'Match are wrong, because a specific location (usually a specific street in London) is matched with somewhere much larger (usually London). So I do not recommend importing the Mix'n'Match matches once the property is created. (Attention User:Magnus Manske!) MartinPoulter (talk) 14:43, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
