Motivation edit

alias = Darwinion Southern Cone Flora ID

The "Flora del Cono Sur" it's a catalog made by the Darwinion Institute of Botany from Argentina. It's a very comprehensive catalog with more than 10,000 taxons identified in their database. They have persistent URLs with a code at the end of URL that allow for identification. They are a reliable and trustworthy source of information. Importantly enough, they provide very valuable regional data that is hard to find in other types of databases, since this is a regional one that only catalogs plants from Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Brazil. This will allow for more refined searches inside Wikidata that will allow us to create more focused articles and find more relevant images with a geographical criteria. Thanks for the assistance @Pigsonthewing. I've removed support until this is resolved but will be contacting @Scann to assist if I can. Ambrosia10 (talk) 22:56, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Pigsonthewing: we're having some issues with the external URLs for now, so we're looking into it. Apparently if you leave the link like this one 188572 it doesn't retrieve the species/genre, even when it still acts like an unique identifier. The first ones don't have a Wikidata item, I still need a few days to create them. --Scann (talk) 16:41, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion edit

Yup totally reasonable @Pigsonthewing:. I'll try to see if there's a way to work around this and let you know when that happens. Thanks! --Scann (talk) 23:36, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
