Motivation edit

The Korea Music Copyright Association (Q16168738) (KOMCA) is the main collective rights management organization for musical works in South Korea and one of the largest in Asia. Their repertory of works (KOMCA repertory (Q65969644)) is accessible through a website, providing detailed information about works and their authors. KOMCA assigns a code to each author and, unlike IPI name number (P1828), these codes identify the person, not one of their names. For authors who get royalties through the association, they are reliable tools to disambiguate possible conflation cases or attest that two different names indeed refer to the same person. An author code also gives access to the list of their works registered by KOMCA.

The code is written in brackets next to the author's name in the description of any of their (domestic) works.

Other formatter URL available (both in Korean) :

  • https://www.komca.or.kr/srch2/srch_01.jsp?S_RIGHTPRES_NM=$1

The value Z9999900 is used for authors who haven't been identified or don't have their own code yet. It would be very helpful to forbid it. Maybe with "(?!Z9999900)" as an additional regular expression constraint?
