Motivation edit

PlayGround.ru (Q4047065) began work on February 20, 2001. It is one of the most popular resources about computer games in Runet. Also, PlayGround.ru is the largest social network of cybersportsmen, or gamers. MasterRus21thCentury (talk) 07:39, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion edit

By the way, despite the various problems of this website, it's worth to mention that it is extremely used on ruwiki ([1], [2]), and also has a fairly extensive database with useful information, so I'm not opposing for a property on Wikidata but   Leaning oppose it usage for Template:Authority control (Q3907614) since this requires a consensus of participants of the video game project on ruwiki. @Kirilloparma: I don't know how to detect UGC on this website as well, that's the main reason I don't use this website at Wikipedia articles. Does it matter for Wikidata tho? I feel like many external databases we're linking are mostly user-generated. Same goes for Authority control template.
Playground would help us to link orphan elements dedicated to rare Russian games, like Way of Warrior (Q4384429) → [3], so   I'm supporting this proposal. Facenapalm (talk) 16:56, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Facenapalm: I feel like many external databases we're linking are mostly user-generated. Same goes for Authority control template. That's right. As I said, I also support this proposal, because after all this website has an extensive database. I mentioned Authority control template only because MasterRus21thCentury added: Planned use → for usage in stated in (P248) and for Template:Authority control (Q3907614), however, as far as I remember, adding IDs to this template usually requires consensus from local projects, please correct me if I'm wrong. By the way I will try to scrape the data from PlayGround in order to create a Mix'n'Match catalog. It will take some time, but it's worth it.
