Seems better than what is currently done, ie a free-text |subpage parameter in {{Property documentation}}. Alternatively, datatype could be item, but I don't think we need an item for every property proposal. --Zolo (talk) 14:37, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

  • URL vice item? That doesn't make me not feel warm and fuzzy. Could also do it as a string or identifier and that way we gain the use of the gadget/service to avoid linking long links. --Izno (talk) 11:47, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
    • No strong opinion on that. An URL sounded sensible to point to a webpage, but a string would be consistent with Commons category (P373) / Commons Creator page (P1472). Arguably, all of those could be "external identifier" as well (they are not really "external" but that may not really matter). --Zolo (talk) 15:17, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

  •   Support Having information looked up on the discussion page shouldn't be the way Wikidata works. It makes sense to move as much of the information about a property as possible to the main page of the property. A bot could fill the property based on the currently available solution.
