Motivation

This was discussed before, but it didn't move forward due to low participation and some dissent. I believe this property is necessary to ensure that our data is as structured as possible. image (P18) is very vague, and machines cannot parse exactly the relationship between the image and the item, so we should use image (P18) only when other, more specific properties do not apply. We have several other, more specific properties, so I don't see why this one wouldn't be valid too. ~★ nmaia ^d 13:43, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I'm not really sure what else would be in P18 for software. For logos, there is already a specific property.

      - Well, you can always add a qualifier to describe the exception. Most p18 for people are photographic portraits. There are a few exceptions, it could be drawing, sculpture etc. Still, there isn't much use in creating a property "portrait photo".
