- Discussion
- Oppose Use official language (P37) (or original language of film or TV show (P364), or languages spoken, written or signed (P1412)) like this. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:47, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- That seems to bend our language property quite a bit. --Izno (talk) 14:36, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- +1. Would be an bad extension of existing properties. --Yair rand (talk) 00:13, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

A question that is not about this prop proposal but is related. @Pigsonthewing: is it also correct to apply P1412 to peoples not just individuals, eg Barambu people (Q2883792)languages spoken, written or signed (P1412)Barambo-Pambia (Q12627595)? And how about an inverse property? Language->Country is very often not specific enough. --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 07:57, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
Support Seems necessary.--Micru (talk) 07:51, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- Support. I don't think there is a suitable existing way to record this. Thryduulf (talk) 05:57, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Hesitant. This seems like a more specific part of an unsolved more general issue including things like Portuguese Braille (Q17081016) and Wabun code (Q3179954). --Yair rand (talk) 00:42, 28 April 2017 (UTC)
- @NMaia: Done, this property seems required. The properties suggested as alternatives seem not to cover this case. Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 14:13, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
