Motivation edit
Spotify is (manually) increasing the amount of structured data in its own database, which is probably a good thing for Wikidata. This set of data is currently in beta. Unfortunately it's not particularly accessible at the moment, since writing credits aren't linked from the Spotify website, but it's still possible to find them through search engines and probably other methods (there might be API access, for instance). Discussion edit
- Support We got burnt supporting beta features before, but this looks very promising Moebeus (talk) 15:23, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
- Wait - This is definitely a very useful property, but we should wait until it's out of beta and linked from the website. Husky (talk) 22:43, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Husky: To be clear, while open.spotify.com doesn't link to the songwriter pages, this is because credits are only shown in the native Spotify apps, and songwriters which have data are linked from the track credits in the app. Jc86035 (talk) 18:13, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Jc86035, Moebeus, Husky: Spotify songwriter ID (P8347) has been created. Pamputt (talk) 20:56, 17 June 2020 (UTC)
