- Motivation
URN-NBN identifiers are special cases of URN (Q76497) assigned by national libraries as specified by RFC 3188. These identifies are an alternative to DOI or can be used together. At least some sub-namespaces can be resolved at https://nbn-resolving.org/ (use URL-Pattern https://nbn-resolving.org/$1). We need this property to uniquely identify publications registered at national libraries if there is no DOI or other identifier. -- JakobVoss (talk) 12:40, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Support - should the label on this property be URI-NBN or URN-NBN? ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:54, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it's an URI but better name it URN-NBN -- JakobVoss (talk) 07:31, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

- Support. I note that CEUR Workshop Proceedings (Q27230297) is using them and has no DOI. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 15:05, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Wouldn't you want "external links = https://nbn-resolving.org/$1"? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 15:06, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
- Ok, I see that it is only for Germany and Switzerland. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 15:07, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
