Formatter URLhttp://www.wormbase.org/db/gene/gene?name=$1;class=Gene
Robot and gadget jobsWill be performed by ProteinBoxBot (talk)

Motivation

Caenorhabditis elegans (Q91703) is a highly studied eukaryotic model organism. Wormbase provides comprehensive integrated biological information about this species. The ID will be used to link C. elegans (and eventually other nematode) genes in WikiData to their counterparts in Wormbase. Gstupp (talk) 20:32, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

So, to clarify the formatter URL issue, Wormbase supports multiple subspecies of worms. It looks like you could use the pattern: http://www.wormbase.org/db/gene/gene?name={1};class=Gene It appears to correctly redirect to the appropriate species page given the identifier. e.g.http://www.wormbase.org/db/gene/gene?name=WBGene00220262;class=Gene does get you to the non c-elegans gene: http://www.wormbase.org/species/b_malayi/gene/WBGene00220262 --I9606 (talk) 21:45, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
