- Motivation
There is already a need for this, which will be more evident when we have the Wiktionary integration. There's some modularity here, which will save us the trouble of creating a property for every dictionary out there.
Please note that there may be some unstructured notation with this category as the proposal stands now, so I'd like to have some input on how to deal with dictionary entries that are mapped to "volume 6, page 4057, character 1", for example. ~★ nmaia d 02:09, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Comment this seems somewhat related to catalog code (P528) which I think has been used in similar cases - is a new property really needed here? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:28, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: Thanks for letting me know, I was not aware that this property existed. It does seem similar. Can you recall where you saw it with similar use cases? ~★ nmaia d 20:47, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- Well I'm not sure how "similar", but for instance Messier 86 (Q2577) lists how that galaxy is indexed in a number of different galaxy catalogs using this property. ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:16, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

- Comment I think using "described by source (P1343) with qualifiers "section, verse, paragraph, or clause (P958) + volume (P478) + page(s) (P304)" is the traditional approach with this. Strakhov (talk) 13:50, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oh this looks perfect, thank you! I suppose this proposal can be archived, then. ~★ nmaia d 14:07, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
