Motivation edit
eHive is a GLAM cataloguing platform used by art galleries, museums, and private collectors. Its ID numbers appear to be unique, not relative to each subscriber. So, for example, instead of having separate identifiers for NERAM ID and [other gallery ID], we can have a single property that covers both. (I am not associated with eHive, and have no specific reason to promote their operations, my interest here is enriching the representation of Australian art collections on Wikidata.) ⁓ Pelagic ( messages ) 01:44, 26 September 2021 (UTC)

The ID is used within various URLs, e.g.
- https://www.neram.com.au/artwork-details/484467
- https://ehive.com/collections/5568/objects/484467/musgrave-street-wharf
- https://ehive.com/collections/5568/objects/484467
https://ehive.com/objects/484467- I was expecting this last one to work, allowing a simple URL formatter. But it gives me a 404 not found. If there isn't any URL that uses the object ID separately without a collection ID or custom domain, then this proposal might be dead in the water. Is there some way we could encode both numbers with a separator? E.g. 5568/484467.

- @Pelagic: Yes, that is possible - see the external-id redirector service. However, the first link you give doesn't use both numbers, is the first number actually necessary for a link generally? ArthurPSmith (talk) 19:23, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
- I can view Randolph College's specimen via NERAM's front-end [1], which is what makes me think the object IDs are unique. But this might be relying on an unintended use of their API that could break/change in future. ⁓ Pelagic ( messages ) 16:08, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
