Motivation

While we already have editor (P98), periodic publications often have several editors, while an editor-in-chief is at the helm. editor (P98) is mainly for books which have a limited number of editors without any specific hierarchy.   • The Hungarian infobox has separate paramaters for |szerkesztő= which uses editor (P98), and for |főszerkesztő= (editor-in chief). The two are complementary. – Máté (talk) 17:31, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
  • I understand this point. I like to add to this that I am not sure if someone on a journal's "editorial board" is an editor. That said, an Editor-in-Chief is a bit special anyway, and just like we have separate properties for, for example, chief executive officer (P169) and chief operating officer (P1789), I am leaning towards  Support.
