Planned use | Adding to league articles |
- Motivation
A property that shows the level of the league in the local football league system. The qualifier as "level" could be more general. Maybe we need a qualifier to show the league system item. Xaris333 (talk) 12:30, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Support a number to represent the league tier could be useful to indicate the position within the football league system Unnited meta (talk) 18:26, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
- Comment this value can be derived by counting the items in the league level above (P2499) chain. --Pasleim (talk) 08:27, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

- with the Wikidata Query service you can use this query. --Pasleim (talk) 17:29, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Pasleim: I need a way to take this information from Wikidata to Wikipedia template. I believe level property is a the best way. And is a property that maybe can be use to other subject... Xaris333 (talk) 14:35, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

- Comment is the intent of this to be something generic across anything with established "levels", or specific to sports leagues? I guess some sort of qualifier indicating the type of level would be needed for most uses? Maybe a more generic example could be added to indicate how this could work? - @ArthurPSmith: Level parameters on other templates: 1) w:Template:Infobox bus line 2) w:Template:Infobox gymnast 3) w:Template:Infobox cloud type Xaris333 (talk) 11:50, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- But for clouds, the "level" values are "high", "medium", "low", etc. Maybe the data type for this property should be "item" rather than "number" to support generic meanings of "level"? ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:01, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- And for bus line the "level" example given is "Daily", also not a number. ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:02, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I don't have others example with number values. Only sports league. Why is that a problem? Xaris333 (talk) 14:16, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- If it is limited to sports leagues then the name needs to be more specific "sports league level" or something like that. If it is generic, then it looks like "Number" is the wrong data type for this. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:23, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- @ArthurPSmith: Ok, I have changed it. Xaris333 (talk) 12:15, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

- Comment If this is going to be created the type should be item instead of number. ChristianKl (talk) 00:27, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Why? Xaris333 (talk) 19:21, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Xaris333: After thinking about it for a bit I'm okay with Quantity. The property however still needs a description. ChristianKl (talk) 13:25, 21 May 2017 (UTC)
