- Motivation
Currently, there doesn't seem to be a good way to state the amount of weight a rocket can carry. I'm open about broading the scope. ChristianKl (talk) 17:17, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Comment I thought kg was a unit of mass rather than weight. —ShelleyAdams (talk) 19:19, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
- @ShelleyAdams: Okay, I renamed it into mass. ChristianKl (talk) 13:18, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support David (talk) 15:28, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Can you clarify that this is only a specification, and not the actual mass of a payload carried on a specific mission? If that is the case. Danrok (talk) 17:06, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- The description currently uses the word "can". If you have something other in mind to specify, can you give me your suggestion? ChristianKl (talk) 12:46, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support Perhaps this should include spacecraft and not just the launch vehicle? For example, the Automated Transfer Vehicle (Q153257). Danrok (talk) 04:25, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- In general I see your point. On the other hand, currently Falcon (Q3770701) doesn't subclass spacecraft (Q40218). Maybe there's a cleanup needed. ChristianKl (talk) 12:46, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Payload as combined weight of all people and cargo could also be used for other vehicles, e.g. trucks and buses. Please broaden the scope to vehicle (Q42889). -- JakobVoss (talk) 07:59, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
- @JakobVoss: Done. ChristianKl (✉) 15:47, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
We don't have an established rule against proposal creators marking their proposal as ready when they fulfill the criteria. Given that the property creator can make the decision whether or not to create the proposal, I don't see a benefit from such a rule. On the other hand, I consider it helpful when I can go to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Category:Properties_ready_for_creation to have an overview over properties that are marked ready and can then evaluate whether they should be created. It makes the process faster than having to go through the 166 open properties and finding that a given property is ready but not marked as such. ChristianKl (✉) 19:53, 11 November 2017 (UTC)
