Motivation edit
Numerous artists (actors, musicians, etc.), have performed in various venues. Yet, the only property we have to characterize this is Employer, which creates an issue since performing arts building (Q57660343) does not qualify (and rightly so) as an instance of employer (Q3053337). The performed at function would be a much better fit for that role. William C. Minor (talk) 03:28, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
Discussion edit
I think this can get pretty unwieldy, as modern artists tour around the globe and visit hundreds of venues. NMaia (talk) 04:53, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
- Those "hundreds" of venues won't be all in Wikidata. William C. Minor (talk)
- That's a bad argument giving that the proposal for this property is arguing for making those "hundreds" of venues notable in Wikidata. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 17:18, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
- If you consider non-artistic people, who "perform" at different venues, you will get footballers "performing at" the Bernabeo, Wembly..., tennis players performing at Wimbledon, Roland Garos etc., or Politicians like Ronald Reagan, performing at the Berlin Wall. I assume there may be interest in such information, however, it would be especially unpleaseant for longer lasting engagements, such as Cricket tests. I think, the idea has its merits. It nevertheless, requires some fine-tuning. Yotwen (talk) 10:37, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- Apologies for the double: How'd you deal with artists like Christo? He wrapped countless famous buildings in cloth. Would those then become "artistic" (e. g. the German Reichstag)? I increasingly have doubts that you could keep the lid on the permutation of people and places. Yotwen (talk) 10:49, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

- Support, an important property for art.--Arbnos (talk) 18:18, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support, but disagree with limiting domain to performing arts building (Q57660343). Performances might take place in various uncommon venues, and for some things, e.g. performance art, the location (e.g. a gallery) might not be classified as a performing arts venue.
