power plant unit designator edit

Description | Unit designator for a power plant |
---|---|
Data type | String |
Example 1 | w:Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant has a significant event (P793) -> first criticality (Q100349048) with qualifier "power plant unit" -> 2 and qualifier point in time (P585) July 10, 2016.[1] |
Example 2 | similar for Gundremmingen Nuclear Power Plant (Q657029) but the "power plant unit" would be alphabetical, like e.g. A, not numerical. |
Example 3 | Taishan Nuclear Power Plant (Q1519910) would have a numerical designator |
Example 4 | "Sostanj lignite thermal power plant unit" returns Google results. So this is why there is no nuclear in the name. |
Motivation edit
Without this property, "first criticality" is ambiguous regarding the unit that achieved first criticality (like on e.g. Belarusian nuclear power plant (Q2639309)), and one would assume that it covers the whole plant. Ysangkok (talk) 19:04, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
Discussion edit
- Oppose Use applies to part (P518) and create items for individual power plant units.--GZWDer (talk) 22:08, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @GZWDer: So are you saying these should be one item for all unit A at all the different plants? Or that there should be an item for every single unit for every single plant? That would be involve the creation of all of these, and that is just for the US: [2]. Since the sources almost always talk about the power station and the units in the same article, I think this causes information to be too hard to discover. --Ysangkok (talk) 16:16, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per GZWDer. If we need to say anything about a concept, we should create an item for it. --Tinker Bell ★ ♥ 06:13, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose every unit that's worth speaking about deserves it's own item. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 16:27, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
