Discussion edit
- Comment For Sandy Island (Q80326), I used described by source (P1343). I'm not sure if a new property is useful for any place on any map. --- Jura 18:32, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Modified described by source (P1343) or topographic map (P5203) should probably do, right? Thierry Caro (talk) 22:36, 20 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Thierry Caro: topographic map (P5203) looks good but why is it exclusive to topographic map (Q216526)? and what does it even mean? can I use it on maps that don't have a relief? can i use it on maps that don't accurately depict distances like Prima Europe Tabula (Q23308984)? --Shisma (talk) 16:27, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- Comment / Oppose Would be better to do this the other way round, I think, as the same place may be featured on many many maps. This relationship is more a characteristic of the map, I think, than the place. depicts (P180) and main subject (P921) can be used in this latter direction, with the map as subject; but there might be room for a second-tier property for additional subjects. - Comment Agreeing with Jheald above, this is better modelled as a property of the map rather than a property of the place. MartinPoulter (talk) 14:02, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
