re3data repository ID edit

Motivation edit
The Registry of Research Data Repositories (or re3data) is a cross-disciplinary and global registry of research-related databases, so annotating the items about such databases with their re3data identifier seems useful. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 21:57, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

- Comment I was made aware today that re3data actually issues DOIs (for which we have DOI (P356)) for the repositories they have indexed, e.g. 10.17616/R3Q33G for Animal Sound Archive (Q2432535) (see the recommended citation at the bottom of a page). This reduces the need for a dedicated re3data repository ID dramatically, but probably not to 0, so I'm leaving this proposal open to get further input. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 19:23, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Comment A further complication with using DOIs is that our DOI-based workflows assume that items with more than one DOI are an exception but repositories often have several of them, e.g. PANGAEA (Q947684) has been assigned 10.17616/R3XS37 by re3data and 10.25504/FAIRsharing.6yw6cp by FAIRsharing. --Daniel Mietchen (talk) 04:05, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
- Support I think this is a good idea, re3data is a great resource. ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:13, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
