- Motivation
Neutral property for version as suggested in property proposal for unstable version (not done). There is already a property software version identifier (P348) specific for software. Another not done version proposal was kernel version. The neutral version property can be used in different domains as for document version or versions of digital distributions. Suggested alias: revision. Andheb (talk) 22:47, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Hmm, I think for datasets we are using edition number (P393) which seems sufficient (despite the label it will take anything for the 'version string' value, it doesn't have to be numeric) and has an alias 'version number'. So I don't think a new property is needed here, use edition number (P393). ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:01, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose Thank you ArthurPSmith. I will go with edition number (P393) which is sufficient for this use case. Andheb (talk) 20:27, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
