Jasper Deng edit
Sysop on MediaWiki.org, global rollbacker. Mainly for counter-vandalism, counter-spam, general cleanup, and would like to help out after global sysops are prevented from using their tools here. I also intend to import the range contribs gadget, and also contribute some content. I also intend to help draft local policies related to technical things, like CheckUser and IP blocking.--Jasper Deng (talk) 18:57, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It's always good to see another familiar face, but can you please go do some importing and get your hands dirty with the project? Your edit count in the mainspace is currently 0. Sven Manguard Wha? 19:16, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I said I'm going to use it for maintenance purposes, as I'm not going to start content activity immediately.--Jasper Deng (talk) 19:23, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per above --Guerillero | Talk 20:20, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Does lack of content work really matter when my primary intent is maintenance work?--Jasper Deng (talk) 20:26, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I think it does, because it shows personal investment in the project. Even with the 'three months re-confirmation for admins elected in 2012' proposal likely to pass, I still want to see the people being given Admin rights personally invested in the project. Sven Manguard Wha? 20:46, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Nonsense. First of all, there are many entries that I'm filling out (so the claim of lack of content work is beginning to be invalid), second there's no reason not to trust me for what I intend to do, and that's all that counts.--Jasper Deng (talk) 20:49, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It's good to see that you've started working in the mainspace. The rest of your statement I disagree with. This conversation, however, isn't going to contribute positively to the project in any way, however, so I'm going to leave it be and go do something else. - Support JD is a long-term patroller, to me is quite suitable for adminship at the beginning of a new project, then he should evaluate his own interest in the project itself. --Vituzzu (talk) 17:43, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, per Vituzzu. Also Jasper is now obviously active in the main namespace. --MF-Warburg (talk) 18:14, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support, admins are being confirmed in three months anyways. With no indication that he would do a bad job, I can really only support and then make up my mind in three months, when I have actual contributions to go off of for everyone. Ajraddatz (talk) 18:17, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support trusted user, admin on other projects, knows what he is doing. The other people opposed him because he had no edits, but he has quite a few now. Also, other users were supported before they had any Mainspace edits...PiRSquared17 (talk) 18:20, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment: I doubt edit-count per se is a usable/useful criterion in such an early phase. Nemo 13:58, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - He now has mainspace edits. I'd have loved for his initial response to have been better though. Sven Manguard Wha? 04:50, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Trusted user. And he had many edits on NS0. --Hosiryuhosi (talk) 08:16, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
