Task/s: Using WIDAR, I am looking to undertake sporadic bulk additions, and looking to utilise a bot account rather than flooding RC with my primary account. Not expecting high volumes over long durations, more looking at boutique batches.
Code:buttonholing WIDAR
Function details: Can only list examples, eg. adding a list items like member of sports team (P54) with Richmond Football Club (Q2521385) from something like w:en:Category:Richmond Football Club players and other small batches of items as I get to them, (slowly|eventually) evolving queries and always testing before implementing.
This primary account has a significant number of local edits manually, and believe that I have shown that I don't rush in where angels fear to tread. I tried a test of primary account and WIDAR and even without high-editing set to on, it still streamed a series of edits into RC, and faster than I would have liked if it was a list of 50. Alternatively I will pester people for a flood flag when I want to work from the primary account. The bot has plenty of AWB work around the place, though account not set up locally. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:39, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Sounds fine to me, except I can't give it a flag until you create the account locally :) Legoktm (talk) 23:24, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- That would have been presumptive, and that I wasn't going to be. Account is now created. Thanks for the consideration of the community. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:55, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
