- Approved Lydia is saying that we can run bots, and you've had unanimous approval for some time and have already done a successful test run. Please make sure that, when they are formalized, you bot meets compliance with the interwiki link import standards. Sven Manguard Wha? 03:44, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sk!dbot edit
- Operator Sk!d
- Task: automatic creating Items, big api requests e.g. for Wikidata:Labels and Descriptions Task Force
Hey my name is Sk!d, i would like to run a bot on the pywikipediabot/pywikidatabot framework. I tested my bot on the testrepository where i did about 70.000 edits. My bots gathers interwikilinks from de-wikipedia, checks every interwikilink if there are more interwikilinks to add. And only saves the item if no link is on wikidata yet and if there are no mistakes.
My plan in the future is to implement: updating existing items and making list of pages which should be manually controlled. --Sk!d (talk) 22:11, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

# Oppose Your bot is adding items with interwiki conflicts (for example Q11521). For those who have been following the development of Wikidata in the past months, you probably know that interwiki conflicts don't belong on wikidata for technical reasons. And Sk!d, don't take this as critism on your bot, it is more of an critism to the programmer of pywikidata; the pywikidata framework isn't good enough yet.--Snaevar (talk) 23:22, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I am not sure why this should be an interwiki conflict? As my bot is based on dewikipedia it checks every interwikilinks if there are pages with more interwikilinks. And my log says that there should be no interwiki conflict. I thought about adding only links if every Wikipidia has 100% the same links, but i am not shure if the smaller wikipedias are this up to date. --Sk!d (talk) 06:39, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I withdraw my previous comment.--Snaevar (talk) 21:02, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pause proceedings please Denny Vrandecic is saying that they don't want bots creating items yet, because we're still looking for errors. Sven Manguard Wha? 22:05, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Thats ok, but as i mentioned above it would be nice to get botrights for bigger api requests so i could load more then just 50 items per request. --Sk!d (talk) 23:00, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- APPROVED, see above. Sven Manguard Wha? 03:44, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
