Wish to add population for https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q40956, https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q15175, https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q40956, https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q43684 Vidonnus (talk) 03:57, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose No Vidonnus, the Items you cite are part of of the 3000 most used Items (classified as High Risk). Only contributors already familiar with Wikidata can modify these pages. So your request goes against the policy established by WD: by protecting these pages, it is not to give the possibility to those who cannot to be able to do it. So the reason you invoke is not acceptable to grant you this right. Sorry. We are counting on you to continue to participate in this project (population added). Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 07:13, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know anyone that finds a bald "no" particularly cordial. Regardless, if you could also edit Guizhou (Q47097) for population and inform me as to why I am not autoconfirmed even though my account is older than four days and has more than 50 edits, I would appreciate it. Vidonnus (talk) 23:38, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Your local account was only autocreated today at 03:47 --DannyS712 (talk) 23:55, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- Based on your history, your first modification was made one day ago. Besides, it was this request. Regarding the tone of my message, I found that it was really in harmony with your request. You should know that Wikidata is a particular Wikimedia project and that obtaining rights has higher levels than elsewhere. First, you have to prove your know-how before applying and to start by asking for a right is unorthodox. You can continue to familiarize yourself with the project. —Eihel (talk) 00:59, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- Look, I just came on here to add populations to a few regions that were missing them. They were semi-protected. I was informed that I could request permissions here. I did so. You came at me with an attitude that...well...I could have gone without. I came to make a time-sensitive contribution -- not to compete in a test of knowledge. If this is the way you introduce people to your project, I can't imagine many will stay for long. Good day. P.S. You replied to the wrong person. Vidonnus (talk) 04:13, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- Perhaps you could clarify this in the documentation. It states an account age of 4 days, but considering that my account is years old and was linked to this site, I'm sure you can see how that would be counter-intuitive. Additionally, I am still unable to find documentation on how to properly create an edit request, considering that I cannot do so without having edit access. Both Guizhou (Q47097) and Aragon (Q4040) are missing population data. Vidonnus (talk) 04:13, 6 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hello @Vidonnus:,
First of all, thank you again for the time you devote to the enrichment of knowledge in this project. Do you think I get paid to write to you? Not at all, the time spent writing to you here is also part of my contributions, a volunteer like you. Also, I don't know where you saw a knowledge test, not in these lines anyway. Wikidata is not my project, but a collaborative project of the Wikimedia Foundation. If you have a request to edit a page, please post it on Project:Chat. But your request is so kindly requested, perhaps it will not receive an audience. The rules are very clear: …user accounts that pass certain thresholds of age… and edit count. In 2018, your account creation was made on en.wikipedia.org. So, you will be keen to do it yourself in a few days. Maybe you will find the forms for your next right request. The best of wishes for the future. —Eihel (talk) 11:55, 6 April 2020 (UTC)- @Eihel: No. Hyperknot and Jasper Deng already sorted this out below, so now this is redundant as well as obnoxious. You can mark this closed. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vidonnus (talk • contribs) at 23:42, 6 April 2020 (UTC).

- @Eihel: Really? The best way to drive off new editors is being rude to them. Your oppose reason is not valid, because being manually confirmed is a valid workaround to semi-protection. Remember, the semi-protection is a means to an end, namely protecting against vandalism. This user clearly was here in good faith. Please refrain from further unwarranted rudeness to new users. If you are unable to be polite (e.g. language issues, as I notice numerous grammar errors in your comment), then it is better not to comment at all.--Jasper Deng (talk) 03:27, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

I want to edit pages that only autoconfirmed and confirmed users can edit. Denimalt (talk) 17:54, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
- Your motivation are not very clear. Do you have some examples of pages you would like to edit? Four your information, you will be able to edit such pages once you will have make 50 edits that is rather low. Pamputt (talk) 18:40, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
